Vincent Van Gogh loved the night sky

“For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream,” the Dutch painter wrote in a letter to his brother, Theo, in 1888,” according to DarkSky.org.

What would Vincent Van Gogh have painted if Starlink filled the sky a hundred years ago?

Would Vincent Van Gogh have painted space waste and called it ‘Starry Starry Satellite?’ Would our ‘wishing upon a star’ verse have a different rhyme?

Star light, star bright
First star I see, I wish tonight
I wish I may, I wish I might
Oh stars? It’s just a satellite.

“The new space race doesn’t need to create massive space waste,” experts warn, states ABC News. Many satellites have a lifespan of five years and then de-orbit.
“The natural world evolved with the rhythms of day and night, and light pollution disrupts that. Artificial light lures sea turtles away from the sea and toward the cities after they hatch; light pollution affects migratory and breeding patterns in animals,” according to Itemonline.

Space researchers urge regulatory agency to “press pause” on new satellite launches in a letter to the Federal Communications Commission.

If you want to see the Milky Way galaxy, we need your help!
What would the three wise men say if we could no longer see the Star of Bethlehem because Starlink satellites blinds us from seeing the stars in the night sky?

“For centuries, scholars have suggested the Star of Bethlehem may have actually been a ‘great conjunction’ of bright planets. Jupiter and Saturn came together in a ‘Great Conjunction’ in 2020 that was unlike any seen in nearly 800 years,” according to this article in Astronomy.com.

In the 17th century, Kepler suggested that a conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in 7 BCE could be the astronomical origin of the Star of Bethlehem.

Why Starlink satellites blinds us from seeing the stars in the night sky

Starlink satellites are positioned in low-Earth orbit, so appear particularly bright and move rapidly across the night sky. Sky gazers fear that Starlink satellites may outnumber the stars there are to see. Starlink satellites appear as a trail of lights several days after launch and easily visible to the naked eye. What would the three wise men say if Starlink was in place thousands of years ago?

During this holiday season, you too can check for satellites in your night sky, in addition to the Bethlehem star:

On July 26, in their “weekly guide to the latest on FOIA, transparency and accountability battles, threats and wins” MuckRock reported, “ Commander troubles: President Joe Biden’s German shepherd Commander bit seven people in a four-month period after former first dog Major was ousted from the White House over similar aggressive behavior, according to internal Secret Service communications obtained through the Freedom of Information Act and reviewed by The New York Post.”

A NY Post article is here.

Many theories have emerged about the dogs and their undesirable behaviors.

Some have followed political party lines.

I Have a Few Theories

They do not involve aliens or UFOs or assassinations or questions about pandemics.

I don’t think that the dogs were “sent away to the farm” for awhile in an attempt to hide an embarrassing pregnancy.

Yes, it’s clear to me, Major and Commander were peddling cocaine in the White House, and the Secret Service is covering.

No, actually I have another theory.

Downward Dog

Many years ago, I asked a student if we could use a picture of her dog doing the yoga pose “downward dog” for a promotion.

We had a very sweet, engaging postcard with actual photographs of a yoga teacher, a toddler, and a golden retriever each doing the pose.

Later, the dog owner came to me and said that is was ironic that we had used the photo of her dog, because she had recently learned that her golden retriever was quite ill, with skyrocketing levels of inflammatory markers.

Centuries ago, the ancients recognized both the Meridian electromagnetic pathways of the body that are choreographed by the sun, and the Radiant Circuits, also known as Strange Flows.

They performed “down dog” in order to activate, energize, and balance some of those pathways, in this case, including the Heart Meridian.

Dogs and cats are also comprised of electromagnetic fields which sustain their energy body, for example, the Gall Bladder Meridian shown here, from the book “Four Paws Five Directions” by Cheryl Schwartz.

Four Paws Five Directions – Cheryl Schwartz (drcherylschwartz.com)

In recent history, especially in the last 150 years of mass consumerism, most of modern society has lost the maps, and has become increasingly illiterate in the Laws of Energy.

And unlike previous ages, when wisdom was accumulated by directly observing and interacting with Nature, individuals are increasingly distracted by devices, and not learning, and not learning how to learn through observation, interaction, relationship, or cultivation of the intuitional body.

To Assume Makes an Ass Out of You and Me?

As a result of energetic illiteracy, we see ridiculous and dangerous assumptions driving the technological revolution, for example the implication that the skin is the boundary between the internal and external environment, and 5G “only penetrates the skin” – therefore “5G is safe” – all based in inanimate tissue modeling.

Or, for example, the implication that because bananas emit radiation, that it’s ok to place an industrial-scale tower laden with antennas in a residential neighborhood, as discussed in greater detail here.

Dogs Know Better

Dogs realize that the human consciousness field does not start at the skin, as they sniff the air around their human companions.

Bees also know better.

In his book “Bees,” Rudolf Steiner explains, “The bees feel, if I may use this expression, a person’s effluvia, exhalations, vapors, or perspiration. They know what makes up a specific human being.”(See Bees, Lectures by Rudolf Steiner, 1923, Translations copyright 1998. Anthroposophic Press, Great Barrington, MA, page 60.)

The measurable field that surrounds the body, and not the skin, is the first line of defense against external influences.

Rather than looking (only) at shallow penetration of the skin on a model as an assurance of 5G safety, research could and should be conducted to determine if the action of the intelligent, energetic, protective field that surrounds living beings is being compromised by artificial man-made exposures. Further, is the skin’s function itself being adversely impacted by artificial frequencies and lighting, for example, melatonin or Vit. D production?

Because if that energetic field in a human or another living being is being altered unnaturally, what or who is now remotely controlling, altering, and hijacking the harmonious balance that should be choreographed by the Earth’s Cosmic Current?

For example… the exquisite way that the Liver is doing so much interior detoxification to support health and well-being between the hours of 1 and 3 am, then yielding to the Lungs at 3 am, unless of course the individual is being unnaturally activated by microwave hearing and/or data transmissions disturbing the necessary, natural sleep cycle, as occurred when smart meters were installed on homes across the country.

Which has been widely reported.

Which brings me back to the question of the President’s dogs.

There are a number of things that we could be doing to determine how to sustain a healthy environment, and one of those things is to look at the RF/EMF exposures pummeling the dogs, bees, all flora and fauna, and the human species itself. And the Presidential pooches.

Thus far, studies such as the Morris Foundation Golden Retriever Lifetime Study have not considered, monitored, or evaluated the possibility that radio frequency exposures may be contributing to increasing canine cancer rates, despite the findings of the National Toxicology Study.

Dogs in the White House

The heavily-protected White house itself is filled with security and communications infrastructure.

If the dogs are hearing anything like what I (and others) hear turning off and on over the course of day and night, -a multi-layered very high-pitched hum creating a thermo-elastic wave of pressure in my head, preventing healthy rest and sleep, – I don’t blame them for biting – because it is irritating, aggravating, frustrating, and it involuntarily activates the Fight or Flight or Freeze response when brain waves are altered by an artificial external force.

Have the dog’s inflammatory marker’s been measured?

Have dogs been measured for stress responses with and without EMF/RF exposures?

Incredulously, there are similarities between domestic abuse and the conditions being imposed on consumers for access to the essential service of electricity, in the case of smart meters. The demand to accept a surveilling wireless smart meter has been accompanied by minimization and blame, ridicule, domination, threats, and punitive fees. This is bullying, and abuse.

As pet owners look for the assurance of a signal on their cell phone to track their pets, or watch the animals remotely via Wi-Fi enabled video stream, are they sentencing them to illness and early death?

Where is the science that supports safety assumptions? Is it anything like the incredible naivety and misplaced blind trust that has enabled industry-sourced SAM-enabled dummy human safety ‘tests’? (See WeAreNotSAM)

“Humanity is Suffering a Great Separation Sickness”

I have another theory about Commander and Major as well.

In the full-length documentary film “The Animal Communicator – Anna Breytenbach (Full documentary), in addition to other examples of Anna’s extraordinary work, the story is told about the rescue of a remarkable black jaguar.

He did not like the name imposed on him by his initial human captors, and was renamed “Spirit” by the respectful humans eventually entrusted with his care.

(“Spirit” crossed over as the 2023 summer solstice neared, marking the balance between darkness and light, as reported below.

19th June 2023: Spirit left his body peacefully today, assisted by kind curators and vets who accurately determined that his cancer was uncomfortable and untreatable. He lived to an amazing 21 years of age – almost unprecedented for a leopard.)

Instead of building better bombs, what if we were learning how to access the intelligence and presence demonstrated by Anna and others like her?

The White House Dog’s Names Serve as Military Propaganda

Reflecting the war-mongering ways of both Democratic and Republican administrations, the White House dogs’ names serve as military propaganda. But it’s not working so well anymore.

In March of 2021, Military Times reported that ‘Trust in the military is dropping significantly, new survey suggests.”

On July 31, 2023, News Nation reported, Americans’ confidence in US military continues to decline: Gallup.

Politico reported, “Americans’ confidence in the U.S. military lowest in 2 decades, poll finds.”

“Public confidence in the U.S. military continues to decline, reaching its lowest point in over two decades, according to a new poll.

Only 60 percent of Americans expressed “a great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in the military in a recent Gallup poll conducted from June 1 to 22. That’s down from 64 percent who said the same last year.

Over the past 48 years, Republicans have consistently shown the highest levels of confidence in the military. But in just the past three years, Republican confidence plunged from 91 percent to 68 percent. Independents — who historically held moderate levels of confidence — now have the lowest trust, with public confidence dropping by 13 percentage points to 55 percent. Though confidence among Democrats rose after President Joe Biden took office, that gain has dissipated over the past year.

The results mark the lowest level since 1997 and the steepest decline in the past five years — mirroring a crisis of trust in several other public institutions.” – Politico

“US Aims to be “Master of Space”

As the Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space has cautioned, “US aims to be “Master of Space,” Militarizing and Profiteering in the Sky.”

“The Global Network Against Weapons & Nuclear Power in Space is involved in a legal action against the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) to pressure them to create rules/guidelines for the launching of satellites in space. Lower Earth orbit (LEO) is becoming dangerously crowded and NASA scientists are concerned about growing space debris and likely cascading collisions in orbit (Kessler Syndrome). The US is moving quickly to grab as many of the remaining orbital parking spaces as possible in order to deny Russia, China, India and other nations from deploying satellites in LEO.

The Space Force today contends that it will ‘control and dominate space’ and use space tech to win wars on the Earth below.”

Read the report here: https://space4peace.org/legal-action-against-fcc/

In addition, “A rocket launched by Elon Musk’s SpaceX last week from California may have punched a hole in the Earth’s ionosphere, a new analysis suggests. The assessment points out that the Falcon 9 rocket launched on 19 July from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, likely punched a hole in the ionosphere – a layer around Earth consisting of the fourth state of matter plasma, with a sea of electrically charged particles floating at about 80-650km (50-400 miles) above the surface. – Source

Like countless citizens worldwide, maybe Commander and Major are sick of exploitation of the solar system’s resources, (now propelled by the demand for tech, including wireless) and sick of war.

Postscript: to Spirit the Jaguar, we honor your power and grace which endured above and beyond human violence and hubris. Thank you for your Infinite Light.

The adults have left the building – aka Planet – leaving it to be run by the likes of:

Baby Musk – who will provide “Broadband for all” with the help of Starlink, leaking Electrosmog and raining it over us.

Baby Gates – who will provide endless MRNA vaccines/patches/implants for all, changing our DNA forever.

Baby Bezos – who will provide drone delivery of unsustainable goods to all, made in slave labour/automated factories.

Baby Zuckerberg – who will provide the continued brain-washing on Kindergarten Earth, aided by eager “fact checkers”….

In the meantime, more and more of us sit at home like good little Blobs shouting commands to our ever watchful Nanny Aleeexa! from the top of our voices….

No worries, when it all goes to pot, we can jump (if we can still jump) onto one of Musky-boy’s rockets to Mars where Kindergarten Mars will be installed. The Moon will be our Nursery where companies can dig in their sandpits for materials in order to still our tantrums and satisfy our endless hunger for more and faster “connectivity.” Horizontal (brain-frazzling) connectivity can be compared to artificial breast milk formula versus natural breastmilk, which in its turn can be likened to our Natural (vertical) Connection with Earth and Stars.

But hey, who wants Natural when we can get artificial? Who wants real Intelligence, when we can get artificial? Who wants to think for themselves when AI can tell it all and increasingly do it all? And who wants Wisdom when we can get “smart”?

When all the Big Babies have left, Mother Earth will sigh with relief and hope for a Species that respects her and Nature at large….The alternative, of course, is that Humans grow up now, start using their own brains and hearts and give up their harmful “smart” toys, in favour of technology which is soft to the Planet.

Getting a landline and demanding to keep it would be a good start- please keep sharing this petition widely:

SAVE OUR LANDLINES: Help us maintain full access to our well-established and vital copper landline network.

Tech billionaires don’t have a great track record when it comes to fixing our transportation system—but we keep giving them second chances. For 15 years, we’ve waited for Silicon Valley to solve the problems on our roads, and it’s continually failed to deliver. Instead, tech companies have kept us trapped in our cars by distracting us from investments in improved transit and other transport options. Now, we’re letting them load our vehicles with new technologies so they can get their own cut of the profits made from our dependence on automobiles—by scraping our data, forcing subscriptions into our cars, and using drivers as guinea pigs to test new tech.

Meet Ötzi!

In 1991, a frozen body was discovered in Austria. The Iceman became known as Ötzi. Researchers studying the 5300-year-old iceman made some remarkable discoveries regarding his health and lifestyle.

Meet SAM!

As the Australian consumer education group, “We Are Not SAM”explains,

https://wearenotsam.com/who-is-sam/

“Specific Anthropomorphic Mannequin SAM is a plastic dummy used by the telecommunications industry across the world to test the heating effects of 5G wireless radiation of mobile phones.

Did you think there was rigorous testing done on your mobile phone to ensure your safety? Well there isn’t. The testing is fraudulent and so very flawed, yet it’s still the only means by which your ‘smart’ phone is tested for human safety. On a ‘dummy’.

The SAM plastic head is filled with a liquid to see if it heats up one degree within a 6-minute call (sometimes 30 minutes). If it doesn’t heat up by 1 degree then it is deemed safe, and given the tick of approval.

A few details worth noting about SAM:

1. The dummy is meant to represent us aka the average human, except that there is nothing average about SAM.

2. SAM’s head (which is what is being tested) is based on a 100kg, six-foot tall adult male military recruit. Does that describe you? We didn’t think so.

3. Only 3% of the population fit the stereotype of SAM.

What sort of “safety” oversight only protects 3% of the population?”

https://wearenotsam.com/who-is-sam/

Medusa, foreshadowing her opinions, sniffling: “What sort of humanity only “protects” 3% and ignores Amelia and her sister!! the flowers! trees! bees! whales and dolphins! the dragonflies!”

Remember Medusa Banana Veranda!

She laments with her December rant to the tune of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.”

5G is Coming to Town

“You better watch out You better not cry You better not pout I’m telling you why

Playing with dolls is not safety testing and the dolls don’t like it . –Medusa

Let Us Compare Ötzi and Sam

Medusa is asking humans (in her opinion, only those who have not yet received an Elon Musk neuralink) to evaluate whether or not we can learn more from Iceman Ötzi’, or from Plastic Head SAM, about wireless health and safety.

Category 1 Dead? or Alive

In 2016, Ancient Origins published an updated article “Stomach Troubles for the Iceman: How Otzi Continues to Provide Information About the Past.”

“Commonly known as “The Iceman”, Ötzi was first discovered by some German tourists in a glacier in Oetz Valley, Austria, in 1991. Since then, practically every aspect of his life has been studied. Research has revealed his age, how he died , what he wore , and what he ate . His genome has also been decoded and furthermore, some of his relatives have been found .

Even his tattoos were subjected to scrutiny. As Ancient Origins reported in 2013, the tattoos may have been a form of ancient acupuncture. The scientists from the 2013 study explained: “Radiological images of the tattooed areas show degenerative areas under the tattoos that could have caused pain, as the tattooing spots lie approximately over the acupuncture medians, it seems common opinion that they could have been use for that.” Ötzi’s tattoos suggested that he may have been suffering from ailments like rheumatism and arthritis, now stomach problems can be added to the list as well. It has also been shown that he suffered from heart and gum disease,, gallbladder stones and parasites.”

Even though he has long been dead, he was once alive.

Category 1: Dead or Ever Alive Scores: Ötzi 1, Industry SAM Head Used for Cell Phone “Safety” Testing 0

We could, of course, stop right here.

Category 2 Understanding the Human Body

“In February of 2015, Ancient Origins noted, “Scientists have discovered four more tattooed lines on ‘Ötzi the Iceman’, a 5,300-year-old mummy, bringing the total number of tattoos to 61. Researchers are still divided over whether the tattoos were purely decorative, had religious significance, or held a therapeutic purpose.

One of the more surprising discoveries about Ötzi was the series of tattoos found all over his body. His body art consists of sets of parallel lines and crosses, which were made by making small incisions in the skin and then rubbing them with charcoal and herbs.

It was long believed that Ötzi had around 50 tattoos on his body; however, some researchers suspected there may be others, no longer visible to the naked eye due to the darkening of his skin over time.”

Live Science reports that scientists from the Institute for Mummies and the Iceman at the European Research Academy in Italy, used cameras with specialized lenses that capture different wavelengths of light, ranging from ultraviolet light to infrared light.

Using this equipment, the researchers discovered a set of previously unknown tattoos, a set of lines, located on the lower side of Ötzi’s right ribcage, bringing the total number to 61. [ ] the tattooed areas were found to lie approximately over acupuncture medians. If the tattoos were indeed therapeutic, they may constitute the earliest evidence of acupuncture.

A spokesman for the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology had said, in relation to the 2013 study, that if indeed the tattoos were created as a form of acupuncture, “people of the Iceman’s times would have known not only about nature around them, but also about the human body and its reactions – I think this is remarkable.”

Category 2: “Understanding Nature, the Human Body, and Its Reactions- Remarkable” Scores Ötzi 1, Industry SAM Head Used for Cell Phone “Safety” Testing 0

Category 3 Recognition of the Scientific Basis of Acupuncture, Different Points of the Skin Possess Healing Properties

In a blog for the National University of Health Services in November 2021, Danielle Pureifory observed,

“Due to the cold temperatures in the Alps, Ötzi’s bones, skin and even organs were well-maintained. As the team of European researchers began to analyze Ötzi’s body, they noted that he had many tattoos, and his body was encircled with plants and herbal medicines.

Scientists believe that Ötzi lived around 5,300 years ago, and these skin markings certainly give greater implications to the complexity of the medical care available during that time.

Some of the tattoos on his back correspond to Acupuncture points: UB21, UB22, UB23, UB24 and UB253. These points certainly can be used to treat back pain, but they also have the ability to address other ailments. UB21 can be used for abdominal pain and stomach disharmony, UB22 can address digestion and fluid metabolism. UB23 is a frequently used point in the clinic, and can be used to tonify the kidneys, strengthen yang, and also regulate fluid metabolism.
“From an acupuncturist’s viewpoint, the combination of points selected represents a meaningful therapeutic regimen.”

The therapeutic regimen is based on understanding of the electromagnetic pathways and points on the skin.

In June of 2000, Acupuncture Today published an article,” Ice Age Acupuncture? Study of Mummified Body Raises Questions about Practice’s Origin.”

Acupuncture Today explained, “Forensic analysis of the mummy also revealed that his intestines were filled with whipworm eggs, which can cause severe abdominal pain. Five other tattoos located on the body corresponded with points located on the gall bladder, spleen and liver meridians points that are traditionally used to treat stomach disorders.

“What, if any, significance did the ice man’s tattoos have beyond ornamentation? A group of scientists from the University of Graz in Austria attempted to answer that question by theorizing a possible relationship between the tattoos and traditional acupuncture points. Their findings, first published in The Lancet in 1999 and updated in Discover magazine earlier this year, purport to show that acupuncture or a system of healing quite similar to it may have been in use in central Europe more than 2,000 years earlier than previously believed.”

“The research team, led by Drs. Leopold Dorfer and Max Moser, first calculated the mummy’s cun by measuring its femur, tibia and radius. They then converted the measurements of the tattoos to cun and overlaid the locations of the tattoos to topographical representations of Chinese acupuncture points.”

(FYI: Acupressure measurements, Everyone has different body dimensions; According to the person who is to be treated. One cun = width of the thumb, in the middle, at the crease Three cun = combined breadth of the four fingers, at the level of the pinky finger’s first joint above the palm of the hand Twelve cun = the distance from the elbow crease to the wrist crease. Treatment is specific to the individual.)

“Experts from three acupuncture societies then examined the locations of the tattoos. In their opinion, nine tattoos could be identified as being located directly on, or within six millimeters of, traditional acupuncture points. Two more were located on an acupuncture meridian. One tattoo was used as a local point. The remaining three tattoos were situated between 6-13mm from the closest acupuncture point.”

The mummy’s markings corresponded with specific acupuncture treatment approaches for specific concerns based on the individual’s constitution.

If he had different health problems, the markings would have been different, 5300 years ago.

The article is dismissive of many health effects regarding exposures to radio frequency radiation from cellphones, Wi-Fi, or cell towers etc.

Expert Critique of “Psychology Today” Blog

As both a representative of a state commission tasked with exploring the health and environmental effects of wireless radiation, and as a well-respected expert in the field, Professor Kent Chamberlin (PhD) is well-positioned to provide insightful comments to Psychology Today’s Editor in Chief.

Tin Foil Hat – History of Science, Spoof and Fiction

The tin foil hat trope that Joe Pierre refers to in Psychology Today has been around for decades and has been used to discredit those concerned about the health impacts of wireless radiation. But what is the actual history of this term, and what purpose does it serve in shaping public sentiment?

According to the website TV tropes: “When a writer wants to establish a character as a Conspiracy Theorist, a Crazy Survivalist, or another kind of paranoidCloudcuckoolander, they usually give them hats made out of tinfoil to wear, ostensibly to protect themselves from The Government‘s Mind Control rays.”

Science Fiction Origins of Tin Foil Hats

Tin foil hats were first referenced as protection against mind interference in the 1927 science fiction short story The Tissue-Culture King by Julian Huxley, which features caps made of foil that are used by the story’s protagonist to block telepathy, according to Business Insider.

Historical Fact, Not Fiction

“Microwave hearing” was discovered in the 1960s by military researcher Alan Frey. According to the Cellular Phone Task Force, “The “hearing,” [] didn’t happen via normal sound waves perceived through the ear. It apparently occurred somewhere in the brain itself, as microwaves interacted with the brain’s cells, which generate tiny electrical fields. Frey proved also that many deaf people and animals could hear microwave radiation. This phenomenon came to be known as the Frey effect, or simply “microwave hearing.”” (Frey also later reported that microwaves could induce “leakage” in the barrier between the circulatory system and the brain.)

Microwave hearing is a widely accepted medical phenomenon associated with RF exposure.

In 1962, Allen H. Frey discovered that the microwave auditory effect can be blocked by a patch of wire mesh (rather than foil) placed above the temporal lobe.

MIT Student Researchers and Tin Foil Hats: “Clearly the government must have started the tinfoil hat craze so it could more effectively spy on its citizens?”

In 2005, a group of MIT students found that tin foil hats do shield their wearers from radio waves over most of the tested spectrum, yet amplified certain frequencies, (as listed in the MIT catalogue of hacks.)

The IHTFP Gallery is dedicated to documenting the history of hacking at MIT. “The word hack at MIT usually refers to a clever, benign, and “ethical” prank or practical joke, which is both challenging for the perpetrators and amusing to the MIT community (and sometimes even the rest of the world!). Note that this has nothing to do with computer (or phone) hacking (which we call “cracking”). – http://hacks.mit.edu/

“In February 2005, some CSAIL graduate students “Published” a paper on the effect of tinfoil hats on blocking mind control satellites. They measured the attenuation of radio signals as a function of frequency and determined that certain frequencies which are reserved for government use are actually amplified by the tinfoil hats. Clearly the government must have started the tinfoil hat craze so it could more effectively spy on its citizens.”

Tin Foil Hat Styles: The Classical, the Fez, and the Centurion

The MIT students, prodded by “a desire to play with some expensive equipment,” tested the effectiveness of foil helmets at blocking various radio frequencies,” according to this Atlantic article. “Using two layers of Reynolds aluminum foil, they constructed three helmet designs, dubbed the Classical, the Fez, and the Centurion, and then looked at the strength of the transmissions between a radio-frequency signal generator and a receiver antenna placed on various parts of their subjects’ bare and helmet-covered heads. “

According to the Atlantic, “While the underlying concept is good, the typical foil helmet fails in design and execution. An effective Faraday cage fully encloses whatever it’s shielding, but a helmet that doesn’t fully cover the head doesn’t fully protect it. If the helmet is designed or worn with a loose fit, radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation can still get up underneath the brim from below.”

The Atlantic article further mentions, “The helmets shielded their wearers from radio waves over most of the tested spectrum.
Public Awareness and Policy Has Yet to Catch Up to The Science

The “tin foil” hat meme used by psychologist Dr. Pierre indicates that public awareness has not yet caught up to the science. EMF exposures are not science fiction, but science fact. And as Kent Chamberlin shares in his letter to Psychology Today, “There are many actions that can be taken to protect people from radiation exposure, but that will not happen until the risks are acknowledged.”

Kent Chamberlin concludes his letter offering a helpful suggestion to Psychology Today.

“Your publication is highly regarded, and it has a broad reach. This provides an opportunity to bring about significant changes in your field. As an example, you might want to consider running a series of articles covering the neuropsychiatric effects of wireless radiation, approaches used by medical professionals to diagnose those effects, means for lowering wireless radiation exposure, and how to integrate radiation exposure issues into a counseling practice.”

Additional commentary was submitted to Psychology Today about the blog ridiculing individuals regarding their physiology and/or a medical diagnosis, by Magda Havas of Trent University, here.

“My objection, in addition to name calling–which is a form of bullying–is based on science as I have been working with people who have an intolerance to electromagnetic frequencies for decades.”

Fellow Canadian Frank Clegg of Canadians for Safe Technology (C4ST) also addressed the derogatory use of the term “tin foil hats” by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau earlier this year.

“[ ] there are Canadians who are adversely affected by exposure to wireless radiation, experiencing headaches, sleep disturbances, heart abnormalities and other adverse effects when over exposed to wireless devices. Many are physician diagnosed. These include people from all walks of life and sadly, also children. Some are unable to work and have lost their homes and are on disability benefits. The term “tin foil hatters” is sometimes used for these individuals. This can only further marginalize them as well as being hurtful.”

With growing evidence of risks to safety, security, sustainability, privacy, health, environmental justice, and human rights, the tin foil hat ‘trope’ is no longer a clever, benign, ethical prank or practical joke.

The time is long overdue for science, public policy and the media to cease the ridicule – and with humility, to remove their unseemly dunce caps.

By Patricia Burke of Safe Tech International

Every September, Boston area residents watch for one inevitable sign that fall has arrived.

It is not the thousands of college students returning to the city, or the popular Head of the Charles Rowing Regatta that brings throngs of spectators to the banks of the river.

And it is not the fact that wild cranberries can be found in the bogs, or that the macoun apples are in season.

Bostonians watch for one inevitable sign of an approaching autumn– that a student with a rental truck will not heed the warning signs, and will slam into one of the low bridges (9 foot clearance) on Storrow Drive, Memorial Drive, or Soldier’s Field Rd.

That, my friends, is what is known in these parts as ‘storrowing.”

To be clear, storrowing is not confined to college students. Plenty of commercial trucks have also been instantaneously “converted” to convertibles by overpass collisions.

Images of many of the incidents, with entertaining commentary, are frequently posted on Universal Hub, All Boston All the Time and on twitter.

A recent post: “Winna, winna, U-Haul dinna | Universal Hub – 9/1/22 – 12:16 pm included local news coverage:

https://twitter.com/WCVB/status/1565370787183448064

AdamG’s comments about why judges awarded it a 9.5 out of 10 demonstrate the best of Boston’s humor.

Also, a retrospect: The year in Storrowing: 2021

In August 2021, Julia Taliesin of Boston.com reported that “According to numerous photos and videos posted by Only In Boston on Twitter, an over-height truck has either hit an overpass or had to back out of Storrow Drive every single day this August, as of Aug. 18.”

In Sept 2022, Boston.com’s Lisa Weidenfeld wrote, “Yes, it’s time once again to gape at pictures and videos of Uhauls that people have driven past any number of warning signs along Storrow Drive, Memorial Drive, and Soldiers Field Road. The prototypical Storrowing involves the roof of a moving truck sheered straight off as traffic grinds to a halt for miles behind it. In luckier versions, the moving boxes stay in the trucks, but occasionally, a Storrowing will see some poor college student’s dorm furniture strewn around the road.”

Historical Perspective

Nathan Phillips, a professor in the Department of Earth and Environment at Boston University, gave some historical perspective, as well as a vision for the future, in his article “Reverse the curse: pedestrianize Storrow Drive, Build back better, don’t rebuild the status quo”.

The roadway was supposed to be “a quiet, green, delightful civic space.[]”Pedestrianizing Storrow Drive would reverse a 70-year-old curse. Against the wishes of Helen and James Storrow, the 4-6 lane blight on the Esplanade opened in 1951. To add insult to injury, the builders named it Storrow Drive.” “Imagine Storrow Drive transformed: quiet, soot-free, no longer a wall between the Charles River and the Back Bay and Boston University [] (with) pedestrians and joggers on the Esplanade who no longer endure the noise, exhaust, tire, and brake pollution of this glorified frontage road along the Massachusetts Turnpike.”

Limiting the roadways to cars-only and prohibiting buses and trucks was supposed to help maintain the character of the area.

A Bigger Question than Boston Traffic

But the storrowing issue is a bit larger than the question of how Massachusetts can address its 9 ft. bridge issue.

Canadian scientist, television personality, author, and environmental activist David Suzuki notes, “We’re in a giant car heading towards a brick wall and everyone’s arguing over where they’re going to sit.”

Misguided Social Engineering on the Part of Institutions; Individuals Missing Warning Signs

There are two aspects to the storrowing phenomenon.

One is that the roadway is poorly situated and was not designed for current use or conditions. The area was envisioned as a park.

The second aspect is that unfamiliar and/or distracted drivers do not see and/or heed the warning signs.

Three Flavors of Storrowing, in the Land of Dunkies and Jimmies

(In Boston-speak, Dunkies= Dunkin Donuts; Jimmies = chocolate or rainbow sprinkles on an ice cream cone)

Three different scenarios are observed in storrowing culture.

Slammed Truck

One is when a truck slams spectacularly into a bridge.

Stuck Truck

https://whdh.com/news/over-height-truck-gets-stuck-under-boston-university-bridge/ Image posted by MA State Police

A second scenario is when a truck gets stuck under a bridge.

See another image here: A truck stuck under a bridge on August 30, 2016 just in time for college move-in day.

Backing Up into Traffic Truck

A third, less photogenic scenario occurs when a driver, for whatever reason, does not see or heed the warning signs initially, but realizes, belatedly, that the vehicle cannot pass under the bridge.

In this case, the truck will attempt to back off the roadway against the flow of traffic.

See a video here: https://www.universalhub.com/2021/beep-beep-beep-went-box-truck-its-driver-backed

Navigation: Undone by Over-Dependence on Modern Technology?

Here, the Massachusetts Dept. of Transportation reminds drivers that Waze and Google Maps can lead an unfamiliar driver directly into a storrowing.

Actually, is our relationship with technology more dire than the phenomenon of following a navigation device directly into a storrowing, or worse?

The navigation systems and warning signs could be improved, but, like the truck rooftops, is human health and the environment safe in the current socially-engineered environment that is increasingly laden with artificial frequencies? Who is monitoring?

Has scientific integrity, like Elvis, left the building?

Heeding Warnings, Even if Belatedly: A Badge of Honor

We need a new verb to describe the willingness to back up, because more than anything, what society needs is individuals and decision-makers willing to take a step back from proceeding with blinders on about the risks of our current love affair with unhinged technologies, including wireless and 5G that have not been tested for biological impacts because inanimate engineering models are being used instead.

(We have had to reverse course countless times before, for example, with asbestos, lead, mercury, and cigarettes. And previous Late Lessons from Early Warnings: “The 14 case studies in the “Late Lessons” Report (EEA 2001) include several chemicals (TBT, benzene, PCBs, CFCs, methyl tertiary butyl ether, sulfur dioxide, and other Great Lakes pollutants); two pharmaceuticals (DES and beef hormones); two physical agents (asbestos and medical X rays); one pathogen (bovine spongiform encephalopathy); and contaminated fisheries. These case studies are all examples of false negatives because the agents or activities were regarded as not harmful for some time before evidence showed that they were indeed hazardous. We tried to include a false positive case study in the report (i.e., where actions to reduce potential hazards were unnecessary), but we failed to find either authors or sufficiently robust examples to use. Providing evidence of false positives is more difficult than with false negatives (Mazur 2004). How robust should the evidence be and over what periods of time should the evidence be obtained on the absence of harm before investigators conclude that a restricted substance or activity is without significant risk?”)

Although sometimes referenced as a walk of shame in the land of storrowing, heeding warning signs, even belatedly, is a sign of wisdom, and deserving of a badge of honor.

We could be listening to those swimming against the tide, because this is how a necessary course correction always starts.

This is a necessary course correction. We’re speeding along in a fully loaded rental truck during rush hour on a roadway that wasn’t supposed to be here.

As the late eco-feminist and environmental ethicist Marti Kheel noted, “When you are standing at the edge of a cliff, progress is walking backward. “

Some storrowing images, and brilliant community commentaries:
