Moss Landing, California:  Did you know a huge environmental disaster is unfolding in Northern California which may impact our food supply and wildlife, and is poisoning locals? 

Dubbed by Forbes magazine Tech’s “Three-Mile Island” moment, Moss Landing Lithium Power Plant caught on fire January 16, 2025. Moss Landing, which houses the world’s largest battery storage facility, burned for five days leaving a toxic plume that reached into agricultural and farmland in Monterey and into two other counties.

After the fire, Dr. Ivano Aiello, Department Chair at San Jose State University, home of Moss Landing Marine Laboratories, discovered at Elkhorn Slough (two miles from the plant) heavy metal toxins at levels 100 to 1,000 times greater than normal soil levels.  

80 Percent of 100,000 Batteries Ignited – Not a “Little Fire”

“These fires are not done yet that they keep reigniting, even just the smallest one can still put toxins in the air,” – warns one local.

 When lithium batteries burned for a week, smoldered for a month, and then reignited, many began questioning why the world’s largest lithium battery power plant was approved near Elkhorn Slough State Marine Conservation area, an area with the highest marine biodiversity in California (see San Jose State blog) and home of 150 endangered sea otters­­­­­­. What will be the impacts of this contamination given these sea otters, when healthy, birth a single pup every other year?

Heather Higgens, who kayaks at Elkhorn, stated in an interview with Tina Berg from Status Coup News:  

“50 sea otters gather in rafters at a time and hold hands, and you have sea lions to the entrance, we were all in shock, we couldn’t believe this [the fire] would happen.”

Is Moss Landing Fire the Result of Unexamined and Reckless Sustainability Measures?

“If you can’t easily extinguish one battery, how are you expected to extinguish tens of thousands?  You can’t. You have to let the batteries burn themselves out” – Comment at the Monterey Board Meeting

The Battery storage at Moss Landing with frequent toxic fires is in violation of California Environmental Quality ACT (CEQA) §30240.

Locals didn’t know:

• These fires cannot be controlled, thermal runaway is a “phenomenon in which lithium-ion cells start uncontrollably heating up.“ Bay Nature Magazine
• Battery fires can severely impact human health from toxic corrosive gasses: hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen cyanide (a toxic compound), and heavy metals, all of which require a respirator when in proximity.
• Prior to the January 2025, Vistra Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) fire, both agencies and the public were not informed how often BESS facilities catch on fire – nor were they alerted to the potential for hazardous toxins to be released after a thermal runaway event.
• There are 93 reported BESS failures worldwide, a veritable ticking time bomb.

Batteries Continue To Smolder, Risk of Another Fire Remains High as Moss Landing has Remaining Batteries Yet To Be Disconnected

Fallout from Moss Landing fires on January 16 and February 18 flare-up, included worsened symptom for locals residents: metallic taste, skin rashes, burns, bloody noses, difficulty breathing, severe headaches and more. Salinas Valley, known as the “salad bowl” of America, is situated a mere twelve miles from the power plant. It’s common sense not to consume vegetables or fruit that potentially have been affected by heavy metal fallout including impacts to the soil and water?

“These heavy metals will chemically transform as they move through the environments and potentially through the food web, affecting local aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems,” according to San Jose University  

Salinas Valley in Monterey County produces 70 percent of the United States lettuce as well as artichokes, strawberries, broccoli, wine grapes, cauliflower, celery, and spinach. Monterey County supplies our nation’s school lunches, and supermarkets such as Sprouts, Trader Joes and Whole Foods. With locals and animals in the area getting sick, people are now questioning the quality of local produce despite Monterey County assurances of safety.

The Erin Brockovich Lawsuit

Renown environmental activist, Erin Brockovich, is a spokesperson for the Moss Landing lawsuit against PG&E, Vistra, and LG.

“I am concerned with lithium power storage facilities so close to farmland and …communities because these accidents happen.  There didn’t seem to be any preparedness. People were going to the emergency room, having respiratory problems, sore throats and getting no answers. Every single situation seems to start like this. What concerns me is that it just feels like somebody knew. They did. They’ve got infrastructure inside there. Did they jerry rig something? Did they allow it to happen? The truth’s not coming out. So, my concern is that information is being concealed.”

Knut Johnson, an attorney from Singleton Schreiber who is suing Moss Landing, reported seeing pictures of people with “horrible rashes and clients with toxic substances on their property.” 

While local scientists are checking the soil and finding toxic pollutants, and Hunterbrook New Data shows elevated heavy metal exposure 20 miles from Moss Landing including agricultural land, the EPA is minimizing the impacts assuring locals and farmers there is no problem for humans or wildlife,see report here and here. 

Vistra issued a statement in response to Erin Brockovich’s comments:

 “Air quality monitoring, which has been ongoing since the start of the fire and continues today, has been conducted by the U.S. EPA, Monterey Bay Air Resources District, and others and has not detected risks to public health at any time. Additionally, soil and water testing conducted by Cal EPA/Department of Toxic Substances Control, Monterey County, and Santa Cruz County have not detected risks to public water supplies or soil in the community.”

Norm Groot with Monterey County Farm Bureau has assured constituents that Moss Landing “product” didn’t enter the food supply, (see letter here), yet this position differs from scientifically validated heavy metal toxicity which includes Hunterbrook results of 150 surface wipe samples of the area.

Locals are calling for further real time, transparent testing, of air, water, and agricultural products across the Monterey Bay, including Santa Cruz, and inland – and to be informed of battery pile conditions, flare-ups and off-gassing.  As of March 8, local residents shared multiple reports of the same sulfur and chlorine tastes/smells once again and noticed the Slough devoid of birds.

Brian Roeder from Never Again Moss Landing shares that a lot of folks are reporting terrible symptoms since the reignited fire from Feb 18^th.  However this KSBW News report does not acknowledge people’s symptoms nor the testing that showed elevated heavy metals in Elkhorn slough and surrounding communities.

Following are some of what locals are sharing on the Moss Landing Vistra Power Plant/Fire Symptoms Facebook page:

“The last couple days have been extremely bad with coughing up blood and the metallic taste in my mouth and my tongue being numb hard to talk.”

 “I was out at Elkhorn Slough reserve for 10 minutes – so impacted that my sinus flared up, my eyes are burning.”  

According to Dr. Calvin Luther Martin, those who live and work near Moss Landing could have been inhaling caustic hydrofluoric acid and hydrochloric acid.Locals comfort each other offering advice on first aid such as eye drops or suggesting the use of blood pressure cuffs, as many are experiencing eye and blood pressure issues from long-term continual exposure. 

The following image is a map of 647 individuals who reported unusual and often severe symptoms from the Vistra fire.

N.B.: The location of individuals reporting symptoms extends from Santa Cruz to Carmel.  Locals are asking for oversight: for the California Coastal Commission to be involved in overseeing demolition and cleanup at Moss Landing, an analysis of the burn pile, and for Agricultural Inspectors to share knowledge and to be fully transparent on what is happening in the fields.

Few are listening. Patients and in particular women are being dismissed as hysterical when they go to their doctors.

The critical next step is to call State Senator John Laird’s three offices. Laird is a huge proponent of BESS plants.  He has a direct line to the Governor’s office.  Laird can request critical state resources that have not been on the ground.  Testing. Toxicology.  Financial assistance for families.  Medical and environmental guidance.  Help for the agricultural community and school district.  Fire mitigation strategies and wildlife impacts.

What is so tragic is that families have been and are continuing to be injured after (February’s) follow-on fire. The county authorities have gotten very little direction or resources from the State. The state toxicologist has dismissed the attached scientifically validated data and has stated publicly that he has not even looked at it.

December 2024: Massachusetts, Rhode Island, parts of New York, and New Mexico are among the jurisdictions where smart meter deployment will be taking place in the near future. This is an evolving document and effort geared for ratepayers facing impending deployments, especially in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, but potentially of use for anyone, including investigative journalists.

 Information about smart meter issues, risks, and harm does not appear readily in web-based searches, and there are many dead links.

For example, a court order was required in California for the public to gain access to accurate information about the number of transmissions from the meters.

But unless someone knew the history, they would not know about this link below, or the early work of the EMF Safety Network and Stop Smart Meters, both in California.

By way of comparison, a newly installed meter in Eversource territory in Massachusetts was measured to be transmitting every 30 seconds. Companies are still not forthcoming with the information about transmissions.

For the past nine years our organization, New Mexicans for Utility Safety (NMUS), has kept open the door labeled “Wireless technology is killing all life”. We need a lawyer, now, to prevent this door from finally slamming shut on us all. New Mexico is the only state in the US, and possibly the only jurisdiction in the world, that has so far prevented the installation of smart meters on the basis of health and environmental protection. [] On October 17, 2024, the NMPRC issued its Final Order on Public Service Company of New Mexico’s (PNM’s) latest application for smart meters. In its Order, it both approved the installation of 550,000 smart meters in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and other cities, and issued a threat to NMUS: henceforth the NMPRC will fine NMUS up to $100,000 for each document submitted by NMUS that mentions either health or environment.

By 2010, utility customers began reporting electromagnetic injuries caused by digital
meters: Customers have documented reports of headaches, memory and cognitive problems, intestinal, hormone and eye problems, insomnia, heart arrhythmia and palpitations, ringing in the ears, exhaustion, skin rashes, vertigo, tingling in extremities, nose bleeds, burning sensations and more. As a result, some victims of these injuries are now unable to tolerate RF radiation from transmitting and non-transmitting digital meters and also from other electronic and wireless devices. When we don’t understand the risks of ‘overcharge’ in ourselves and others, and we don’t understand when and how our subtle energies are being exploited, or how to protect ourselves, we are flying blind.”

I recently read a quote by Substack author Tijn Tjoelker of The Mycelium in his post Lessons from Zen and The Art of Saving The Planet.

We are at the point where every mundane choice that we make throughout the day and night – about what we do with our time and attention, and whether or not we invoke a machine or device, large and small – either does or does not regenerate life.

Unexamined choices via our technology use and consumer habits have taken us beyond the edge of reason. We need a new roadmap,

A Short Historical Narrative of Feedback Loops: The Startle Response vs. Desensitization

I remember when cars were first outfitted with remote door locks. Car lights would blink and the horn would beep loudly, so that the driver could confirm that they had locked the vehicle – from across the street.

Initially, I jumped out of my skin on more than one occasion in parking lots, startled by the unexpected noise from an empty vehicle. How did we come to change our expectations and behavior regarding when and where and how we lock our vehicles – creating the demand for more sensors and expensive key fobs, with cars generating data? Should we celebrate that Meta’s glasses will remember for us where we parked the car? Or should we question that we would need the assist, because we have been empowered to not pay attention to what we are doing?

Mindless or Mindful?

Over time, the horn honking volume was adjusted. My energetic immune system and nervous system adapted to the sound, and now I rarely experience that startle response. I am desensitized.

We have not considered that in many cases, our desensitization not an adaptation. It is degenerative, especially regarding our relationships with technology, with the built environment, with authoritarian structures, and with each other.

We could instead be paying more attention to what the European Environmental Agency has coined, “Late Lessons from Early Warnings” by heeding more of our own physicality, as well as reports of harm being experienced by others.

This extends far beyond overuse injuries and postural problems caused by tech; by screen blue light harm; by epidemic myopia, including in children; and including unacknowledged damage to nature. The harm is preventable, and caused by failure to course correct in the face of evidence of maladaptation to misguided social norms.

Trauma expert Peter Levine noted, “In a herd of deer, we need some super-sensitive ones. They are the ones that will hear that teeniest little crack or smell the one or two molecules of scent from the mountain lion that’s stalking them. Their job is to use their hyper-sensitivity to alert the whole group.”

If we are going to address any of the current challenges facing humanity, we need to recognize and recover our relationship with our own independent sensory feedback systems. We need to hold ourselves accountable for ensuring that our man-made inventions, including AI, do not destroy our biology, or each other, or the nature environment with which we have co-evolved for thousands of years.

Tech is enabling us to adopt mindlessness and disconnect, when we need to be going in the opposite direction. We are treating the planet and ourselves – frivolously, while outsourcing harm from the Global North to the South, including mining and waste.

Some antidotes include self-awareness, simplicity, mindfulness, wonder, presence, community, compassion for others, reverence, and openness to accumulated wisdom from other cultures.

We have access to maps that can guide us back to an integrated, healthy and balanced relationship with one another and with our own energy fields, via energy intelligence, much of which has been codified by Eastern traditions, thousands of years ago. Many Westerners are already reaping benefits of Eastern teachings; we could incorporate much more wisdom regarding balance, and embodiment. We don’t have to continue traveling this road. We can change the GPS coordinates to conscious awareness.

A Short Comparision Study of an Energetic Exchange: Shopping

Here are 3 different scenarios describing a cashier processing a customer’s purchases in a store, relative to studying energy anatomy.

1. In the first scenario, the cashier displays basic social skills and interacts courteously with staff and the customers. Friendly smiles are exchanged. The cashier is ‘present.’

2. In the second scenario, the cashier is wearing revealing clothing, with a phone visibly tucked in her bra. She does not make eye contact with anyone. She is sending mixed signals indicating that she is distracted with her mind elsewhere, while at the same time drawing attention to her appearance.

3. In the third scenario, the cashier has pasty unhealthy-looking skin, wearing clothing that obscures her physicality, with extreme prominent piercings on her face. She avoids eye contact. Again, the unconscious messaging is that while acting like she doesn’t care, she desperately wants to draw attention to herself.

If we could perceive the energetic dynamics occurring in each exchange, before we became desensitized, what would we see?

What does this have to do with a cybertruck? Everything.

Strange Flows, Radiant Circuits, and The Penetrating Flow

Thousands of years ago, Chinese seers mapped out the electromagnetic pathways that sustain the invisible subtle energy field. This includes both Meridians and ‘Strange Flows.’

Some surmise that the name ‘Strange Flow’ may have been sourced from the idea that the behavior of these energies appeared unusual and unpredictable, until their functions were understood. For example, if we were to suddenly fall through ice into freezing water, the Strange Flows responsible for managing body temperature would take the helm and re-organize our physiology to help insure survival, faster than the process of conscious thought. This would include the Regulator Flow.

Energy Medicine teacher and author Donna Eden, who can ‘see energy’, describes the Strange Flows as “Radiant Circuits” because of the way they appear to her, as they flash “on” when needed, illuminating like Christmas lights. This contrasts with the action of Meridians, which are choreographed in a constant flow by the changing frequencies of the sun, over the course of the day and night.

Eden Energy Medicine explains, “The radiant circuits function to ensure that all the other energy systems are working for the common good. They redistribute energies to where they are most needed, responding to any health challenge the body might encounter. In terms of evolution, the radiant circuits have been around longer than the meridians. Primitive organisms such as insects move their energies via the radiant circuits rather than through a meridian system, and the radiant circuits can be seen in the embryo before the meridians develop. As in the way that riverbeds are formed, it is as if radiant energies that habitually followed the same course became meridians. Where the meridians are tied to fixed pathways and specific organs, the radiant energies operate as fluid fields, embodying a distinct spontaneous intelligence. The Chinese seers and Indian sages devoted themselves to understanding and cultivating their electromagnetic energies through simple, eloquent, sustainable practices including mindfulness, exercise, herbs, meditation, visualization, and massage, as the foundation for a healthy, conscious life.

The Penetrating Flow is one of the “Strange Flows” of Oriental Medicine. The Penetrating Flow has a number of functions, and one is to rewire the body for reproduction. It is partly responsible for the re-distribution of circulation to the sexual zones of the body. Its action has been described as the gentle feeling of butterflies in the stomach associated with falling in love, which can evolve to a warm feeling in the vicinity of the underwear, (but humans can attach many diverse emotional expressions and experiences to physical intimacy, including violence.)

In a remarkable irony, the same deeply internal energy field that wires humans for intimacy also manifests the survival strategy of disgust and repulsion, for example, when we smell rotten meat.

The body literally reorganizes its energy to prevent us from ingesting something harmful. This aspect of the Penetrating Flow can also be activated in cases of overwhelming shock and emotional upset, for example, witnessing a gruesome accident, or hearing emotionally traumatic news that overwhelms our ability to integrate and assimilate. We lose our appetite, literally.

The Penetrating Flow should not be actively engaged all the time. We do not want to be in a constant state of either disgust or sexual arousal, because in either state, the body’s energetic, spatial, mechanical, and bio-chemical constitution has been altered, intelligently, for a reason, but not for prolonged application.

Seeking to Impact the Audience – Social Media, Telecommunications, and Politics as an Unprecedented Force Multiplier of Arousal, Disgust, and/or Disharmony

When disgust, shock, stress or arousal is running the show, other capacities are diminished.

For example, we need to be able to digest food.

But we are living in an age where the advertising industry, media, and entertainment industry are constantly attempting to activate and direct energies of either arousal or disgust within us, and/or to get us to eat or buy something – often at the wrong time, in the wrong place, and for the wrong reasons.

Divisiveness was stoked during the pandemic and fueled a misunderstood sense of power. Intolerance and hatred is not power. The dynamic can be re-assessed and addressed as a lower interfering energy, rather than sustained and amplified. Without question, our current political process is being driven by disgust towards those who don’t agree with us, from both sides of the political aisle, in different ways.

The underlying economic and political paradigm is one of exploitation, and “taking” from another, including subtle energy, data, self-governance, and the right to ‘the Commons,” now including space and the health of the oceans.

Who is Minding the Store?

The passage through adolescence and into adulthood can be viewed as learning to manage one’s own sense of personal power and self-mastery including one’s sexual energy, which includes the Penetrating Flow. The three scenarios above describing a cashier in a store can be interpreted via the dynamics of the Penetrating Flow.

The first transaction with an attentive cashier is neutral and does not seek to draw energy from one party to the other.

The second example of the cashier with the phone visible in the bra is less neutral. While seeking to appear not to be interested in others, dressing provocatively relative to cultural norms generally seeks attention from “the audience.”

Technology, social media, the internet, and ‘likes’ have exponentially amplified the negatives of seeking attention from ‘an audience,’ and the dangers inherent in an economic system and mass culture cultivating imbalance, energy illiteracy, and addiction.

Instinct Injured Power Dynamics vs. Intention

The third dynamic of piercing the face is more complex, and this is where we find the link to the cybertruck and displays of power.

Many cultures, past and present, have incorporated body piercing and tattooing for any number of reasons, including beauty, and preparing for war. For example, it has been reported that some Native American cultures tattooed Stomach 36, recognizing that activating and massaging the electromagnetic point known as 3-mile leg on the Stomach Meridian would increase endurance.

This is not a commentary on all manifestations of tattooing and piercing, throughout time.

This is about unconscious and unskilled manipulation and alteration of bioenergy, including non-benefiting and non-consensual impacts on others.

Discernment regarding tattooing and piercing has to do with intention, and with literacy (or lack of literacy) regarding the body’s energy fields.

When we don’t know what we are doing relative to these energies, we are lost in space and time, with unanticipated results, including the possibility of long-term health damage.

A ‘witness’ with a strong intuitional body will recoil with an inborn aversion to harmful piercings on the face, for example, those that activate the start and endpoints of the Meridians, even without any formal training in energy medicine. This is because our intuitional bodies carry intelligences far beyond the conscious mind.

One teacher calls this his “spiny sense” of heightened alert, when we need to pay more attention to our gut instincts.

When our inborn energy intelligence is operational and not desensitized, we cringe and recoil at the sight of a painful-looking metal stake impaling the face because the resulting overcharged energy field in an individual or group subconsciously transmits risks. The intuitional body registers danger.

The practice of activating ‘overcharge’ in the military in order to drive them into battle has been practiced in many cultures. One of the most horrific examples of loss of control occurred with the My Lai massacre, during the Vietnam War. (There may have been others, including in 2002, when four wives were slain by their soldier husbands in 6 weeks at Fort Bragg.)

Back at the store, the instinct-injured individual with the pierced eyebrows may experience the recoil of the observer’s aura as ‘power over another.’ This dynamic unconsciously feeds the ego of the individual with the piercings. The energy exchange between the two individuals is distorted and polluted by power dynamics, (although there are energy medicine strategies available for protection from metabolizing unwanted energies, including ‘zipping up’ the Central Meridian.)

This dynamic may be why the piercing was done in the first place – for attention. We will never be able to figure out if piercing and tattooing can be used for healing, until we look.

When we give a wide berth to the metal cybertruck with its blackened windows, we experience the same invasive expression of power-over-another.

We know why a Chechen warlord was driving a gun-mounted Tesla cybertruck.

We also know that Europeans have taken steps to make their roads safer. In a recent letter, the European Transport Safety Council, Eurocities, Clean Cities, Transport & Environment, POLIS – Cities and Regions for Transport Innovation, International Federation of Pedestrians, and the European Cyclists’ Federation opposed the approval of a cybertruck on the roads in the Czech Republic.

Carscoops reported, “Despite the required modifications, they sent a letter to the local government expressing serious concerns about the electric truck’s shape, weight, and size. Apparently, they believe that having a vehicle shaped like a giant, unyielding wedge might not be the safest choice on the roads. [] To gain approval as a privately imported vehicle, the Cybertruck’s infamous sharp edges were reluctantly dressed with rubber moldings, an attempt to make it slightly less dangerous for pedestrians—though one wonders if anyone actually feels safer. Additionally, the LED headlights and taillights were tweaked with yellow indicators to align with European regulations. [] Campaigners argue that even at this seemingly deflated weight, the truck fails to meet regulations for the N1 category when fully loaded. European laws require heavy vehicles to be fitted with speed limiters, a rule that seems to have been overlooked in this case. The letter doesn’t stop there. It highlights the truck’s enormous footprint, expansive blind spots, lack of crumple zones, and extreme acceleration, all of which they say pose a real danger to pedestrians and other road users. What we don’t know is why America ignores the implications of these armored cars,

Is it possible that the quest for self-mastery could eclipse monetizing – beyond the planet’s limits – the need for power imbalances? Can self-esteem be expressed as a force for good?

The Iceman’s Medicinal Herbs and Genetics

The story of Ötzi implies that 5,300 years ago, the practice of tattooing certain acupuncture points was linked to sophisticated, individualized health care.

In 1991 “a spectacularly preserved mummy of a man who was murdered about 5,300 years ago” was unearthed. “The iceman, the oldest glacier-bound mummy ever discovered, was found by hikers in Italy’s Ötztal Alps in 1991, and since then, scientists have scrutinized almost every aspect of the man’s life,” as reported by Live Science. “Genetic analysis revealed that the iceman had a host of ailments at the time of his murder (by a blow to the head). For instance, Ötzi was a heart attack waiting to happen, with narrowed arteries, and he had arthritic knees and rotten teeth, a likely case of Lyme disease, and signs of stomach ulcers.” – Live Science

Possible evidence for care and treatment in the Tyrolean Iceman was published in the International Journal of Paleopathology Volume 25, June 2019, Pages 110-117. The article discussed findings about what he had eaten, and outlined genetic findings.

The Mummy and the Meridians: “Ötzi the Iceman’s Tattoos May Have Been a Primitive Form of Acupuncture”

One of the most fascinating aspects of the story is that the international community was able to discern that “Ötzi the Iceman’s Tattoos May Have Been a Primitive Form of Acupuncture.” “In addition, the iceman was inked; Ötzi was covered in 61 tattoos. The tattoos were all simple stripes with two crosses, so they didn’t seem to be decorative. Given the look and location of these tattoos, the researchers think the markings were a form of medical treatment.” “The tattoos are all located at body regions where the iceman had some health issues and probably experienced periods of pain. For example, he had degenerative diseases of his hip, knee, ankle joints and lower back. Most of the tattoos are located [on] the legs and the lower back,” Zink said.”[] “chest tattoos may have been used to soothe belly discomfort; he had intestinal parasites and a Helicobacter pylori infection. And some of the inked spots corresponded to traditional acupuncture “pressure points,” suggesting to some researchers that the iceman underwent a form of acupuncture, Zink said. (Most scientists believe acupuncture first arose in China, and the first written description of it derives from 2,200 years ago, but it could have arisen earlier in some other location, like Europe, Zink said.) At the time of his death, the iceman had a “medicinal mushroom” known as birch polypore in his digestive system. Birch polypore is thought to have anti-inflammatory and fever-reducing properties, Zink said. Ötzi had also consumed ferns, which could have been either a primitive food wrapper that Ötzi mistakenly ate or a treatment to kill off the parasitic worms that plagued the iceman, Zink said.” – Live Science

Smithsonian Magazine reported “What Ötzi the Iceman’s Tattoos Reveal About Copper Age Medical Practices. New study argues that the 5,300-year-old Iceman’s community boasted surprisingly advanced health care techniques.” The article’s lead photo caption reads, “The Iceman’s tattoos align with classic acupuncture points, and the plants found amongst his belongings have well-known medical applications.”

Science Magazine also stated,” 5000-year-old ‘Iceman’ may have benefited from a sophisticated health care system, New look at Ötzi’s tattoos and medicines suggest complex medical culture,” also linking to locations of his 61 tattoos to the healing science of acupuncture.

“Previous studies have found that Ötzi carried a number of suspected medicines either on him or in him. Fastened to leather bands in his equipment, researchers found the birch polypore fungus, which the Iceman may have used to calm inflammation or as an antibiotic. Scientists also found bracken fern in his stomach, which can be used to treat intestinal parasites such as tapeworm. And Ötzi was covered with 61 tattoos [] including dotlike points around joints, which some researchers believe may have been used as pain treatment akin to an early form of acupuncture.

In the new study, scientists took a closer look at Ötzi’s tattoos. Some lines and dots were directly over his wrist and ankles which suffered from degenerative diseases, and many correspond to traditional acupuncture points, they report in the International Journal of Paleopathology. The markings would have taken a long time to produce, and this sophisticated practice—along with the variety of herbs and medicines—would have likely been developed through a dedicated, systematic trial-and-error approach that was passed down through generations in the society in which Ötzi lived, the team concludes. All of this—combined with the sophisticated use of plants and fungi to treat ailments—suggests Ötzi was part of a culture with some knowledge of anatomy, how diseases arise, and how to treat them, the scientists say. “What they don’t know is whether any of these treatments actually worked” Reflects that Our Current Mass Consumer Culture and For-profit Medical Culture is Sustained by Our ‘Not Knowing’ and Our Unwillingness to Look

Scientists were able to examine a 5,300-year-old corpse and recognize the direct connection with acupuncture maps. But “Science.org” reported that “we don’t know whether any of these treatments worked.” It wasn’t because the Western mainstream medical industry is not aware that Chinese medicine has mapped out the electromagnetic pathways in the body, as the foundation of both self-care and healing, designed to harmonize the organism with the Cosmic Current that choreographs all of life on Earth.

It also was not because scientists had no idea where the points or pathways are, or what capacities they might carry. A simple search online will offer links to images of the Meridian pathways and their point applications, available to all.

It is related to the fact that we do not want to evaluate the effects of our wireless devices and technologies on our electromagnetic energies, because if we did, we would have to address the harm. The centralized power structure does not want to let go of the top-down power, control, and concentrated wealth enabled by data, and the consumers do not want to let go of the convenience, sense of personal power and control, and the 24/7 dopamine drip.

The dismissive conclusion by Science.org is related to entrenched economic interests that foster insidious intellectual arrogance.

For example, in 2021, Psychology Today published, “Believing Acupuncture Works Doesn’t Mean It Actually Does, Acupuncture is alluring pseudoscience.’ In 2024, No, Washington Post, Acupuncture Still Doesn’t Work, was published by Forbes. In July of 2024, Science-Based Medicine published “Acupuncture and Evidence Based Medicine” The plausibility of acupuncture is very low, because there is no known mechanism, and outside of short-term pain and nausea reduction, for any medical application of acupuncture there is no plausible even theoretical mechanism.

We can assume that none of these organizations humbled themselves to attempt to understand the science that underlies Chinese Medicine. Recognition is power.

Albert Eistein observed, “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.”

Piercing the Energy Pathways

When we overlay piercings with available maps of the Meridian pathways and electromagnetic energies, we can see that the woman with the metal embedded in the inside corner of her eyes may be causing harm to her Bladder Meridian and the associated resonant field. The woman with the piercing on the outer edges of the Eyebrow may be adversely impacting the Gall Bladder and Triple Heater meridian energies. Indiscriminately activating these Yang meridians is most likely not without consequence.

Understanding and balancing these energies could instead become the basis of a healing and self-care renaissance.

When Things Don’t Look the Way They Should

My friend’s dog is miserable each October when the neighborhood is decorated for Halloween and monsters and goblins are flapping in the wind. His inborn alarm system is registering risk, because things don’t look the way that they should.

There are too many things in our environment that don’t look the way that they should look, that have been normalized by our unrelenting exposures and desensitization, as well as addictions.

One of the most alarming issues is the inescapable transmission of ubiquitous layers of artificial manmade EMF/RF/5G frequencies into the airwaves, juxtaposed with the practice of instinct-injured metal piercings, because metal acts as an antenna. Piercings can become unintentional antennas for harmful internalized exposures

Confronting ‘Overcharge’

Warriors have used various strategies to place themselves into a state of frenzied overdrive in order to inflict pain on others in battle, and our Penetrating Flows understand this mechanism. Our energy intelligence recognizes the risks and the imbalance, even if we do not possess conscious awareness.

We can’t come to understand or even study the actions of the Radiant Circuits by examining cadavers, or by studying laboratory animals under controlled conditions.

Our current science paradigm can’t support the level of integration that is needed to return each individual to self-mastery and self-sovereignty.

Insight and change can come from the choices of individuals, everywhere, to stop riding an unexamined, distorted technology wave.

We need to re-sensitize ourselves to our inborn wisdom; and to use our energetic capacities as good medicine for one another and our home planet. For example, the physical body has the ability to provide individual feedback about a particular food or medication. Our ‘scientific’ method of conducting double blind testing drugs against a placebo on groups is a gamble at best, and manslaughter in far too many cases.

Energy Intelligence in Action

We can redirect our focus to the still quiet sensory system inside that recoils at the sight of the unexamined juxtapositions of technology and biology… including earbuds near the brain, a person eating GMO altered industrialized junk food, a cellphone held against the head, a transmitter on a whale, a rocket laden with weapons and antennas heading into space, a cell tower next to a home or nursery school, a teen with low self-esteem encountering pornography or bullying on the internet, a child in the Congo mining cobalt, a connected vehicle spewing RF; a cell phone carried over the heart in a shirt pocket, tucked in a bra, or near the reproductive organs; a child throwing a tantrum and being soothed by a device, thousands of satellites filling the Low Earth atmosphere for which we have no trash pick-up.

Meta-studies by compromised experts and industry will not give us the right answers.

Many of these technologies have unleashed unspeakable harm on those who are more sensitive to artificial frequencies, especially women and children.

We need a new litmus test to determine whether a new invention, technology, or consumer product is designed to serve the greater good.

For example, the clean energy community indicted itself when it ignored the profound suffering and disability caused by wireless smart utility meters, installed under the guise of sustainability while enabling massive surveillance. If a manufacturer or government does not conduct appropriate pre-market testing, and does not address reported harm, claims regarding benefits are not legitimate. When those experiencing damage are on the receiving end of the disgust, marginalization, and ridicule that is powered by the Penetrating Flow and the manipulation of the media, dual use technologies causing harm don’t receive appropriate scrutiny.

Like the helix that represents our DNA, our inventiveness has been traveling away from the laws that govern our biology and our internal and external environment. We are at the bending, the point of tension where we need to shift our trajectory.

When we hit the sharp turn, we need to slow down. If you are at the fork in the road choosing between mastering more tech or learning from nature, chose nature.

Fact Checking Endnotes:

The origins of acupuncture are implied to have been derived from “trial and error” by the Science.org. However, it is known there are individuals who have the ability to “see energy.” An alternative history indicates that the sages could ‘see’ energy and codified the knowledge for all. The alternative narrative also implies that many indigenous groups had/have the capability to ‘see’ energy, providing the ability to identify beneficial herbs, etc. even without use of the written word, but were reluctant to explain to conquerors how they accessed their expertise. His-story is his story…interpreted by the dominator culture, and subject to further evolution. Yours, mine, everyone’s.

The calendar is holding in between the observance of Mother’s Day and Father’s Day in the U.S.

I am thinking about the tremendous stress faced by parents and children in the age of tech, and also remembering stories I’ve heard about Ray Sr. and Ray Jr. – an institution in the world of bike repair.

Ray and Sons is an American ‘mom and pop’ store. When Ray Sr. and his family emigrated from Italy, the neighborhood was filled with small family businesses. Before the store sold and serviced bikes, it had apparently been a television and appliance store, and I think before that a food market.

Ray (Jr.), who is now in his 60s, tells the tale about the family traveling to another city to pick up the bike they bought for him when he was a kid. The service at the store was terrible – back when “service” meant how the staff treated the customers, and not how fast the cellphone connection is.

When they returned home from retrieving the bike, Ray Sr. looked at his wife, took a long drag on his cigarette, and said, “Rose, we’re going into the bicycle business.” They opened in 1969. That was the start of the boys learning how to fix and to sell bikes. In its heyday a band of men worked together in the back room, assembling mountains of new bikes and fixing flat tires nonstop.  

My friend Ray inherited the business when his father passed. Neighbors stop by through-out the day, because, like the sitcom “Cheers, where everybody knows your name” the store is an institution, and so is Ray.

Post-Pandemic

When the pandemic was winding down, Ray was faced with two simultaneous challenges.

#1- In order to protect their health, most of his staff members were not yet ready to return to the store, including his beloved elderly mother who would sometimes answer the phone.

#2 Due to the pandemic, there were very few new bicycles available, and many individuals were pulling old bikes out of the garage that needed tune-ups, repairs, and parts that were not available.

Parts Girl

These factors contributed to my becoming Ray’s “parts girl” for a few months. I loved helping out. All I could really do was unpack the bike helmets, tires, mirrors and other parts when they arrived, and sweep the floor, which I loved to do, and answer the phone.  But callers really wanted to talk to Ray.

Customers whose parents bought bikes for them when they were four years old came back with their own children, seeking another bike for another generation. Ray remembered them. He taught parents how to teach their kids to ride, and he knew the best places to do it. (hint: a dirt road)

New bikes received a bike blessing. When a child reached the point when they no longer needed training wheels, Ray performed an elaborate celebration ritual, which was adorable. I believe that an ice cream cone was once involved, but due to inflation, a one-dollar bill later became the award of choice. One girl once scoffed and demanded ’10 bucks’. We were stunned.

Italian music played in the background on the radio all day long, and half the town brought Chianti when it was Ray’s birthday, providing him with another year’s supply.

Mastery vs. High Tech

Ray had all the knowledge about the bikes and parts in his head…there is no computer in the store. He and the customers occasionally sit at the counter and pour through 3-inch wide, heavy, beat-up parts catalogues when needed.

But most times Ray had a ‘junker bike’ on the premises where he could harvest the right component- for pennies on the dollar. He is part technician part magician. No one minded the time spent in the store. It is a temple, in its own right, operating outside of time and space. Alchemy often unfolded.  

I loved contributing in some small way to the mastery of the place. There are shamans everywhere who heal things in real time with their hands, fixing broken cars and washing machines, mending clothes, farming, making delicious food.

I feel a deep kinship with these individuals.

Repairing valued objects is about bringing things back to life.

Life is About Balance

As much I loved the store, I was aware of the stress in parents, and the lack of well-being in the kids, some handicapped, many overweight, some with behavioral issues, all holding phones…and older kids who had never learned how to ride a bike.

One day, a woman came into the store with her sixteen-year-old son, excitedly looking for a bike for him so that they could ride together. He was a seemingly quiet kid, and very attentive.

Ray pulled out a bike to measure the right fit for the frame, cracking jokes with the mom as the son straddled the bike….

and as the teen stood on one leg to mount the seat, I saw what was going to happen-

He could not balance. He was about to topple over the other side the bike and knock a row of 20 bikes onto the floor, followed by displays and God only knows what else.

Somehow, I was able to take a giant leap and grab him before disaster struck. Ray and I both assured him that riders figure out which side they like to use to mount and dismount, and not to worry.

This scenario can’t be blamed on developmental delays caused by the pandemic. It has been unfolding for much longer than a few years.

Parenting via Unrestrained Tech is ‘Unbalancing’

In a more embodied epoch, not driven by competition, we could be cultivating strength, balance, and grounding on both sides of the body and in both hemispheres of the brain, throughout the age span.

Children learn through unstructured play. Sages mindfully practiced Tai Chi, Chi Gong, Yoga, and other disciplined energy practices. We have neither.

Many of our fitness approaches, from weight machines to jumping jacks, are homolateral, and do not cultivate the cross-over pattern that relates to the connection between the left and right hemispheres of the brain and the corpus callosum. We have unknowingly abdicated many of our human capacities and relationships to unbalanced devices.

Ray and I spoke about the fact that lack of activity and screens have diminished the physicality of generations of kids.

Ray also listened respectfully when I spoke about issues with cell towers, cell phones, and radiation health issues, including relentless tinnitus, which is actually microwave hearing. (see: Microwave News | Auditory Effects of Microwave Radiation)

He never questioned my concerns about device use, wireless exposures. and brain function. This is not always my experience. His openness was a refuge.

Writing by Hand vs. Typing

A recent study explored writing by hand vs. keystrokes. NPR reported, Why writing by hand beats typing for thinking and learning, In kids, studies show that tracing out ABCs, as opposed to typing them, leads to better and longer-lasting recognition and understanding of letters. Writing by hand also improves memory and recall of words, laying down the foundations of literacy and learning. In adults, taking notes by hand during a lecture, instead of typing, can lead to better conceptual understanding of material. “There’s actually some very important things going on during the embodied experience of writing by hand,” says Ramesh Balasubramaniam, a neuroscientist at the University of California, Merced. “It has important cognitive benefits.” A slew of recent brain imaging research suggests handwriting’s power stems from the relative complexity of the process and how it forces different brain systems to work together to reproduce the shapes of letters in our heads onto the page. Research suggests kids learn to recognize letters better when seeing variable handwritten examples, compared with uniform typed examples. Self-mastery is much more extensive than calling on the different parts of the brain to work together via handwriting instead of keyboards.

Decades ago, the originators of Brain Gym recognized “the often overlooked physical components of learning — visual, auditory, motor, and stress management skills so that people can reach their peak performance for life’s most important moments.” Many learning challenges can be addressed via whole body movement that activates the specific sections of the brain, as opposed to medications like those in active use for growing numbers of ADHD diagnoses (1 in 9 children).

Enabling children to self-actualize also requires protecting them from addictive consumer paradigms, including social media and cellphones which act as a dopamine delivery device, altering brain chemistry.

Kids can go outside, again, without being tracked, playing, peeling around the neighborhood in gangs, like Ray and his friends and their bike banana seats, and falling asleep at the end of day naturally, because their muscles and their bodies are physically tired.

Neighborhood watch and safety is not the equivalent of a camera; it is the presence and awareness of everyone who loves kids.

Melanie Hempe at Be Screen Strong on Substack recently published a post “A Prescription to Heal a Screen-based Childhood” about observations she made while visiting a school prior to a speaking engagement.

“Down the hallway, there were art projects strangely different from those we still have hanging in our kitchen. Very few were made by hand. Instead, most were photos printed from a digital printer, sloppily cut out, and pasted on poster boards.  “Kids do “digital art” these days. They love the computer“ Kathy explained.

As I continued through the building, I asked about the strange “dirt” line along the entire length of the main hallway at waist level. Kathy explained: “When the children walk in single file, they extend their arms to touch the wall so they can get their bearings and not fall over. Their physical balance is off because their core is weak; they are not experiencing enough recess or physical play outside of school.” 

 I headed to the auditorium, a little distracted to deliver my talk. What I saw in that hallway was disturbing. Was this the norm now, or was this just this school?

I began to unravel this elementary school mystery the next day when I called my friend, Cris Rowan, a pediatric occupational therapist. Cris was not surprised by my description of what I saw. She explained that the average child spends more time on a screen than asleep. They aren’t getting enough time to move and play to build core muscles, hurting their learning ability. Simply put, kids aren’t spending enough time outside experiencing the push and pull of nature. They are experiencing what Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods, calls a nature deficit disorder.”

In the introduction to her work Melanie at Be Screen Strong wrote “I am a medical professional and mom of four children who accidentally raised a video game addict. When our oldest son dropped out of college due to his gaming addiction, I put my nursing degree from Emory University to good use and met with as many medical professionals as I could to learn about childhood screen addictions, including addictions to video games and smartphones.  Our experience with our oldest son, combined with what I learned about the effects of screen overuse on teenagers’ physical and emotional development, caused us to implement changes in our household. We wanted to ensure that our three younger children detoured around screen-related problems and flourished with life skills, healthy hobbies, and stronger family connections. We discovered that it is possible to raise teens without allowing video games, smartphones, and social media to be an essential part of their daily routines.” 

Re-claiming What Was Once Lost

Decision-makers have not addressed foundational concerns about children and tech.

Can the societal pressure that is now directed towards device use and its synthetic, disembodied, and addictive nature, especially for children, be redirected, by consumers?

It is human nature to want to ignore gnawing discomfort, -to dissociate or distract, and device use enables countless options for not paying attention to what is in front of us.

Please let unease and awareness move you enough to become an active part of the growing pushback against unexamined tech, especially for kids.

What has been inflicted on younger generations and nature in the relentless pursuit of disjointed, faster, more ubiquitous connectivity, – at the expense of so many human capacities, – is not love.

A state licensing board for acupuncture will discuss medical records at its quarterly meeting in June.

Proposed rule changes would mandate that all records be ‘typed’ with a future push for digital-only records.

As typewriters are no longer in vogue, ‘typing records’ implies the use of electronic devices.

Some practitioners work within the mainstream medicine model and want to participate in insurance re-imbursement plans.  But many practitioners of alternative medicine, including chiropractors and acupuncturists, have their own independent practices, and use hand-written record keeping, by choice.

Reports of cyberattacks of health care companies have exploded in the mainstream news.

In addition, emerging research regarding children, screens, and learning provide some important implications for why the FL acupuncture board would want to wisely step away from mandating record keeping on screens.  In her blog posts Digital Tech and Education Part 1 and Part 2, Lyn McLean of EMR Australia outlined recent research Professor Tom Butler from the University College in Cork in Ireland.

“In his recent paper that reviews the latest research in neuroscience, cognitive psychology and education, Professor Butler says, ‘It is now apparent that Digital Technology has a “dark side” with negative consequences for society that often outweigh the benefits that it brings.’ Professor Butler explains that there are many reasons why digital technology is harmful – and not just for learning.”

The implications of this work can be applied to the question of whether or not electronic record keeping is an appropriate mandate for the profession.

1. Sleep Problems (and the Circadian Rhythm)

“All screens contain LEDs [light-emitting diodes] that emit artificial light frequencies that disrupt the body’s circadian rhythms and interfere with sleep. This can have negative consequences for the user, as sleep is important for memory and learning – as well as for health.

Butler says that ‘short-term sleep deprivation … affects cognition, vigilance, mood, behaviour, ability to learn, immune function, and general performance. Moreover, epidemiological studies associate poor sleep with long-term outcomes such as diabetes, obesity, depression, hypertension, and general mortality from all causes.’ Lack of sleep has also been linked to substance abuse in teens.” – Digital Tech and Education Part 1 and Part 2, Lyn McLean of EMR Australia

Acupuncture is directly linked to the distribution of ‘chi’ between the organ systems, and harmonization of the circadian rhythm. Mandating the use of typed records (which will transition many practitioners to using screens), would contradict the profession’s intent towards balance and health.

Until screen use’s deleterious effect on chronobiology and other related health issues are addressed, practitioners should be able to decide for themselves what form of record keeping they want to use.  The acupuncture field could instead adopt an informed advocacy role with patients, teaching about the emerging risks associated with screens.

2. Vision Problems

“Digital device use also has negative effects on vision. According to Butler, ‘LED and CD screen design features such as refresh rate, luminance contrast levels, fluctuating light, backlighting, and contrast contribute to eye strain and visual fatigue – this has become known as computer vision syndrome.’ It can negatively affect legibility and comprehension and even contribute to the loss of retinal cells and macular degeneration.” – Digital Tech and Education Part 1 and Part 2, Lyn McLean of EMR Australia

The acupuncture field could adopt an advocacy role with patients, addressing the emerging risks associated with screens, including harm to eyesight.

3. Keyboards vs Pens: Learning and Memory

“Butler says that it’s pens, pencils and paper – not keys and keyboards – that give the best results when it comes to learning and remembering – and he provides the evidence.

There are intellectual benefits from physically writing letters and words. According to Butler, ‘The act of writing plays a pivotal role in learning. Typing keys on a keyboard does not have the same effect. Writing and typing involve different cognitive-neurological processes and outcomes in terms of neural circuitry.’

Multiple studies have found that university students perform better in exams when they take notes by hand rather than using a laptop.

Students who use computers in class learn less well and disrupt the learning of others.

People learn better when reading from paper rather than online texts. The reading of digital texts tends to result in more superficial processing and reduced comprehension.” – Digital Tech and Education Part 1 and Part 2, Lyn McLean of EMR Australia

Those practitioners who recognize that notetaking by hand enhances memory and learning should not be mandated to use screens.

4. Effects on Brain Function

Alarmingly, Butler says that using digital devices can negatively affect brain function. As we’ve seen it can impair memory and cognition, but it can also affect brain chemistry, contribute to psychological problems and affect general well-being.

‘Digital Technology applications may develop very narrow, non-transferable, cognitive and/or motor skills in children at the expense of more important reading, mathematical skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills,’ he says. – Digital Tech and Education Part 1 and Part 2, Lyn McLean of EMR Australia

5. Cyberhacks and Lack of Privacy and Security

A sampling of recent headlines includes Cyberattack disrupts operations at major US health care network, A cyberattack forces a big US health system to divert ambulances and take records offline, Hospitals in at least 4 states diverting patients from emergency rooms after ransomware attack, and Damaging hacks expose the weak underbelly of America’s health care system

Technology, as currently designed, is not able to protect privacy. Should those clinicians who prefer not to expose their patients and practice to hacking risks have the choice?

6. Wireless and Lack of Science-based Exposure Limits

Clinicians who are forced to type their patient records and who do so during treatment most likely do not have hard-wired access through-out their facilities.

The FL acupuncture board may be holding a presumption of safety towards wireless devices and digital technologies. There may also be an assumption that all acupuncturists will be comfortable owning and using a wireless device (screen or ipad).

As reported by the Environmental Health Trust, on August 13, 2021, the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruled in the historic case EHT et al. v. the FCC that the December 2019 decision by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to retain its 1996 safety limits for human exposure to wireless radiation was “arbitrary and capricious.” The court held that the FCC failed to respond to “record evidence that exposure to RF radiation at levels below the Commission’s current limits may cause negative health effects unrelated to cancer.” Further, the agency demonstrated “a complete failure to respond to comments concerning environmental harm caused by RF radiation.” The court found the FCC ignored numerous organizations, scientists and medical doctors who called on them to update limits and the court found the FCC failed to address these issues:

impacts to children,

the testimony of people injured by wireless radiation,

impacts to wildlife and the environment

impacts to the developing brain and reproduction.

No qualified health care provider would prescribe a medication to a child that had only been tested on an adult-sized model, and that had not been tested or re-evaluated since 1996.

7. Computers

Even without the focus on wireless exposures, as EMF consultant Keith Cutter asks, “Are Computers Safe from an EMF Perspective? What can TEMPEST teach us?” “I have clients who cannot interact with computers in any fashion or talk on a phone—even a landline. Others who are not as affected must resort to extreme measures to use a computer or interact with other technological devices.” “If electromagnetic poisoning is indeed cumulative, we must be vigilant and proactive in protecting ourselves and our loved ones. Let us strive for a balance that prioritizes our well-being, fostering a harmonious existence with nature and minimizing interaction with technology.”

“TEMPEST is a codename referring to investigations and studies of compromising emanations (CE), which are unintentional signals that can be intercepted and used to reconstruct the data being processed by electronic devices. It’s existence proves that there are considerable emissions beyond the immediate vicinity of the devices, certainly beyond the room in which the workstation resides.” – Keith Cutter

8. Accessibility, Accommodation, Genetics, and Addressing Marginalization and Discrimination

Many health care practices offer Wi-Fi in their offices, with patients on cell phones filling the waiting rooms. On the other side of the equation, there are informed practitioners who post signs asking patients to turn off their devices. The offices are hard-wired, with landline phones.

Which practices are more progressive? In terms of inclusivity and risk management, the answer is clear.

The Electrosensitive Society in Canada is dedicated to helping people who have electro-hyper-sensitivity. They offer Information for health care practitioners here.

Wireless poses an accessibility barrier for an unacknowledged portion of the patient population, and may also create an obstacle for practitioners.

In fact, conversations are occurring amongst patients who can no longer access treatment, who recognize that acupuncture must be delivered in a stable electromagnetic environment, for example, free from smart meter transmissions, and not proximal to wireless infrastructure including antennas, for safety.  This is because the needles can act as antennas for artificial manmade frequencies.  (See the story here of an injury sustained during a treatment: EMF/RF/EHS and How I Broke My Nose on the Acupuncture Table) Can the efficacy of a treatment protocol be protected in a polluted environment?

In May of 2022, “TCM Treatments for EMF Sensitivity | Acupuncture CEU Course” was taught by Wisconsin acupuncturist and functional medicine practitioner Michelle Meramour, Dipl.Ac.. An introductory overview (1 hour 18 minutes) of the interactive day-long professional CEU training is available free online here. Michelle begins by explaining that there are measurable genetic predispositions towards electrical sensitivity. She provides acupuncturists with background on Western RF research, including Martin Pall’s work on voltage gated calcium channels, before introducing a model of EMF injury and illness progression based in Chinese Medicine. At about 45 minutes into the video, she describes the progression of six stages of EHS from the Chinese Medicine perspective, as disharmony moves through six meridian pairs.

Michele describes a genetic predisposition to electrical sensitivity.

Mandating device use discriminates against sensitized practitioners.  

Hopefully, instead, the acupuncture profession could be a trailblazer in inclusivity, promoting training for practitioners, and advocating for science-based exposure standards and protected electromagnetic environments in the office and in the homes of patients.

9. Device Addiction – in Practitioners and Patients

Cigarettes were once promoted by industry to treat a sore throat. In the 1960’s physicians often entered a treatment room with a pack of cigarettes, and the causal link between many symptoms and smoking was ignored. Many informed advocates recognize that history is repeating itself as cigarettes have been replaced with a cell phone in the shirt pocket, stored near the heart.

The United Brain Association states “Digital addiction is a harmful dependence on digital media and devices such as smartphones, video games, and computers. Some psychologists believe that addiction to electronic devices and media should be classified similarly to substance abuse disorders. Studies have found a strong correlation between high-frequency digital media use and mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety.”

While many individual practitioners sustain a balanced relationship with technology, as Professor Tom butler noted, ‘It is now apparent that Digital Technology has a “dark side” with negative consequences for society that often outweigh the benefits that it brings.’ Yet many hold an unfounded presumption of safety.

Parents worldwide are beginning to challenge the ‘dark side’ of tech, especially regarding effects on mental health in children.  

Mandating that practitioners interact further with addictive design, including digital technology and screens, contradicts the intent of healing professions.

10. Concerns for Environmental Justice – Drunk on Wireless

In addition to the personal reasons why a practitioner might prefer the option to take written notes via pen and paper, informed advocates recognize that tech industries have unleashed a wave of consumption of resources and energy, electronic waste, human rights abuses, and cultural inequities.

From mining for rare earth minerals to the grotesque water consumption required for data centers, to the harm to nature and health caused by poorly sited proximal infrastructure, a portion of the population is already seeking to withdraw from the “wireless everywhere” paradigm. Moving to an unnecessary device-driven record keeping paradigm will add to the planetary burden posed by technology.  Learn more here: https://katiesinger.substack.com/

Aligning with Core Values; ‘The Psychic Break’

The Center for Story-based Strategy notes, “There is a moment they term a ‘psychic break’ that is the process or moment of realization whereby a deeply held dominant culture narrative comes into question, oftentimes stemming from a revelation that a system, event, or course of events is out of alignment with core values.”

In June, in Florida, the acupuncture licensing board will face a test in discernment regarding technology and healing. 

Hopefully, they will recognize that the acupuncture profession is in a unique position to recognize how artificial EMF exposures impact the electromagnetic fields of the body, and to begin educating their patients.

“Daily exposures to EMFs have grown exponentially in the past several decades with the introduction of wireless technologies such as cellphones, cell towers, 5G and other wireless technologies that use radiofrequency (RF) radiation as the primary method for transmitting data. Developing and implementing safe exposure limits and educating the public on the potential hazards of overexposure may be necessary to avoid unintended overexposures and the ensuing health consequences.

As health care practitioners, we play an important role in the ability to recognize, diagnose and treat unintended overexposures. For example, we have a duty to inform patients of the possible negative impacts of habits, behaviors and environmental exposures which may affect health outcomes. We can also educate patients on appropriate food and water intake, reducing or eliminating exposures to environmental toxins and chemicals, smoking, drug and alcohol use, stress and poor lifestyle habits, in order to help them prevent illness or heal.”

There are several considerations for how overexposure to EMFs may cause damage and induce various illnesses or diseases including oxidative stress, cellular signaling, and underlying genetic predispositions. Studies have indicated that EMF exposure can alter voltage gated calcium channels (VGCCs) and produce undesirable results, affecting neurotransmitters such as glutamate, GABA and acetylcholine, which produce neuropsychiatric effects and lead to anxiety and depression.” []

At my own practice, I have turned my treatment and consultation room into a Faraday cage by using professional remediation products to block all EMFs from entering the room. Patients must turn all wireless devices to “airplane mode” and turn off all antennas before entering the room. Many patients notice the difference and often comment on how “peaceful” and “good” it feels in the room compared to just a few feet away in the hallway.” – Kathy Veon

Late Lessons from Early Warnings: ‘Misplaced Certainty About the Absence of Harm‘

The European Environmental Agency has outlined “Late Lessons from Early Warnings, Science, Precaution, Innovation.” “The ‘Late Lessons Project’ illustrates how damaging and costly the misuse or neglect of the precautionary principle can be, using case studies and a synthesis of the lessons to be learned and applied to maximising innovations whilst minimising harms.” “[] three common themes emerge: there was more than sufficient evidence for much earlier action; slow and sometimes obstructive behaviour by businesses whose products endangered workers, the public and the environment; and the value of independent scientific research and risk assessments.”

The summary states, “The scientific elites have also been slowly losing public support. This is in part because of the growing number of instances of misplaced certainty about the absence of harm, which has delayed preventive actions to reduce risks to human health, despite evidence to the contrary.”

Acupuncturists do not deserve to lose public support – due to ill-advised mandates. 

The licensing board for acupuncturists practicing in FL has many good reasons for rejecting the idea of mandating typed patient records –  to be on the right side of history.

Did you know there’s a medical condition called microwave sickness that occurs from chronic exposure to wireless radiation that is below government limits and that 3-30% of the population suffer from it? Since 2002, this condition has been recognized by the ADA as a disability, and it might be causing your or your children’s headaches, insomnia, heart rhythm problems, tinnitus, and/or mysterious skin rashes like eczema or psoriasis, but your doctors most likely would not recognize it because most doctors are unaware of this condition. The government exposure guidelines protect you only from radiation levels high enough to cause skin or tissue burns, but not from other effects like DNA damage that can occur from chronic exposure below thermal levels.

Did you know that our government has not established a safety standard to protect people, animals or the environment from the health effects of chronic exposure to wireless radiation from personal devices like cell phones and computers and infrastructure like cellphone towers? And that in 2021, the FCC was ordered to re-evaluate its radiofrequency exposure guidelines because they lost a legal case brought forth by the Children’s Health Defense, Environmental Health Trust and others?

There are four important facts to know about the FCC’s exposure limits:

Fact #1:

There are actually no government safety standards for safe levels of wireless radiation exposure, only “guidelines” that the FCC adopted from the wireless industry. In the FCC’s own words:

“there is no federally developed national standard for safe levels of exposure to radiofrequency (RF) energy” and government agencies “have generally relied on RF exposure standards developed by expert non-government organizations such as the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP).”

Fact #2:

These exposure guidelines only protect your tissues from getting burned by cell phone towers and by your wireless devices like cell phones, not against all health effects that happen from chronic exposure at low, non-thermal levels (i.e. power levels not high enough to cause tissue heating). Because RF radiation is in the range of frequencies used by microwave ovens for cooking, the presumption was made that heating is the only effect of concern.

In other words, according to the government, if there is not enough microwave radiation coming from your cell phone to burn your skin, then the amount of radiation is safe.

In 1996, the FCC adopted exposure guidelines which only protect consumers from short-term thermal levels of radiation emitted by cell phones and their infrastructure, ignoring substantial evidence of biological harm from chronic exposures at below thermal levels. The FCC has not reviewed these guidelines since then, despite the exponential increase in prevalence of cell phone use and wireless devices and wireless infrastructure since 1996 and use by children and despite clear scientific evidence and growing rates of radio frequency-related sickness.

The RF maximum permissible exposure for the general population is 1.0 mW/cm2 ( = 1000 uW/cm2) for less than 30 minutes for frequencies 1.5 GHz and above, which are the ones used for 4G, 5G, and Wi-Fi. Thirty minutes is a short-term exposure, not a chronic exposure. What about children going to school if there is a cell phone tower at school? They would be exposed to RF radiation at a minimum for 7 hours a day. What about people who live close to a cell phone tower, who would be exposed 24 hours a day? What is the exposure limit for more than 30 minutes? There is none specified.

This recent paper by the International Commission on the Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields (ICBE-EMF) presents the scientific evidence that invalidates the health assumptions underlying the FCC and ICNIRP exposure limits for RF radiation.

Fact #3:

No testing of cell phones was done in establishing these limits. In fact, the COVID vaccines received more testing than cell phones for safety when they were brought to market. Cell phones were assumed to be safe because there was not enough radiation coming from them to cause tissue heating.

Fact #4:

In 2021 the FCC was ordered by the U.S.Court of Appeals to re-evaluate its thermally based RF exposure limits when it lost a lawsuit that was brought by CHD, EHT, and private citizens against the FCC, but so far, there has been no action by the FCC to re-evalulate exposure limits.

These lawsuits were filed in 2019, after the FCC proposed to increase the exposure limits to allow for thermal effects in order to accommodate the much higher exposure levels that come with 5G and 6G. CHD, EHT, and citizens filed the lawsuit that challenged the FCC’s decision. EHT’s filings can be found here. While the court ruled against the FCC in 2021, it still has not re-evaluated these limits.

In November 2021, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit ruled the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) failed to provide a reasoned explanation for its determination that its (thermally based) wireless radiation exposure guidelines, which were set in 1996, adequately protect against all harmful effects from (non-thermal) exposure. The U.S. Court of Appeals of the District of Columbia Circuit held that FCC failed to respond to “record evidence that exposure to radiofrequency radiation at levels below the FCC’s current limits may cause negative health effects”, and the court ordered the FCC to explain why it ignored scientific evidence showing harm from wireless radiation. The court also said that the agency demonstrated “a complete failure to respond to comments concerning environmental harm caused by RF radiation.” The court found the FCC ignored numerous organizations, scientists, medical doctors who called on them in docket 13-84 for new, biologically based exposure limits for wireless radiation. Thus far, there has been no response from the FCC, while hundreds of millions of people in this country continue to use these products, assuming wireless products were made to safety standards that protect them from harm. Consumers are unaware that safety below thermal levels was assumed, and that safety testing was only to ensure these products do not cause tissue heating.

Health Effects Present at Exposures Below the FCC Limits – DNA Damage and Microwave Sickness

Are there scientific studies that have found biological effects at non-thermal levels?  Yes, there are thousands of studies, showing effects on microbes, plants, animals, and humans.

The 2012 Bioinitiative Report is a compendium of 3800 peer-reviewed, published studies on bioeffects from RF radiation, authored by 21 PhDs (10 with MDs), with which the European Parliament used to set limits on RF radiation exposure in 2007.

From the Bionitiative Report, many scientific studies show various biological effects at well below 1000 uW/cm2 – on this one page below from the report, headaches, behavioral problems, concentration difficulties, neurological problems, sleeping problems, and increased leukemia risk are seen at 0.01 to 1uW/cm2, which is 1/100,000 to 1/1,000 of the FCC thermal limit:

Electromagnetic Sensitivity is a Disability Recognized by the ADA

In 2002, the ADA recognized electromagnetic sensitivity as a disability under the ADA “if they so severely impair the neurological, respiratory or other functions of an individual that it substantially limits one of more of the individual’s major life activities” (p. 56353 of ADA Accessibility Guidelines for Buildings and Facilities; Final Rule, September 2002 .

Non-Thermal Effects Exist – FDA Approved Pulsed EMF for Medical Therapy is Example

In addition to the GHz range frequencies found in wireless communications, frequencies in the 0-3 kHz range are found in wireless communications as well in the form of pulsation and modulation.  Electromagnetic fields have been used for over a hundred years therapeutically, and PEMF devices, approved by the FDA, have been used in animals and humans to reduce inflammation, increase circulation and reduce pain . Pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy is a non-invasive, non-thermal treatment that involves pulsing electromagnetic fields in tissue to promote healing.  PEMF devices have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat non-union fractures in bones, post-operative pain and edema, osteoarthritis, and plantar fasciitis. The fact that non-thermal levels of RF radiation have been used therapeutically in allopathic medicine proves that there are biological effects at non-thermal levels.

RF Radiation Confers Antibiotic Resistance to Bacteria, Antibiotic Resistance Growing

Bacteria communicate using frequencies that are in the range of Wi-Fi and 5G.  A U.S. DARPA funded study found that bacteria,  Staphylococcus aureus biofilms, communicate using frequencies that are in the range that are used by Wi-Fi and 5G C-band. The experiment found that “Notable radiation is observed in the 3–4 GHz band” coming from the Staph. Aureus biofilms. In this 2019 study,  Staphylococcus Aureus became resistant to 3 antibiotics (levofloxcin, tetracycline, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole) after  24 hours of irradiation from a cell phone emitting a frequency of 0.9 GHz.  Antibiotic resistance in bacteria is growing and a global health problem.  According to the  National Geographic Society, “multidrug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, caused more than 11,000 deaths in the United States in 2011 alone, and that one plus other resistant microbes kill hundreds of thousands of people annually around the world.”

RF Radiation Damages DNA and Shortens Life Span in Sperm

In a study, after 6 hours of daily exposure for 18 weeks to cell phone radiation at a distance of 1cm from their heads, the amount of live sperm in exposed rats was 45% compared to the unexposed control group at 71%.  More scientific studies on the effects of RF radiation on reproduction, including effects on sperm and ovum, can be found here on the website for Physicians for Safe Technology, founded by this distinguished group of scientists, medical doctors and University of California Professors

With consistent scientific evidence showing negative biological effects on DNA, microbes, plants, animals and the environment, how could it not harm humans?

Microwave Sickness Affects 30% of the Population – Do you have these symptoms?

Microwave sickness, aka “microwave syndrome”, electrohypersensitivity or electrosensitivity, occurs at non-thermal levels of RF exposure, i.e. below the FCC thermal limit of 1000uW/cm2.

EHS, electrohypersensitivity, aka electrosensitivity,  is a collection of negative biological reactions that some people, including children, experience when exposed to EMFs.  The reactions include immune and nervous system problems: headaches, sleeping problems, skin rashes, respiratory allergies and flu-like symptoms, digestive problems, heart palpitations, panic attacks/anxiety, tinnitus, and memory and cognition problems.  To read more on EHS, see Electromagnetic Sensitivity – Environmental Health Trust

Microwave sickness affects up to 30% of the population according to a 2019 study  1.5-5% have moderate symptoms, and < 1.5% have severe symptoms, while up to 30% have mild symptoms.  However, as exposures increase, as is happening with higher radiation levels from 5G devices; increased cell antenna density for 5G; increased internet service from space provided by satellites instead of line-based service; increased use of wireless by the general population who presume safety and unaware of the effects from non-thermal exposures; and installation of more cell phone antennas into residential neighborhoods and schools, the prevalence will increase.

Microwave sickness is a medical condition defined by Merriam-Webster as “a condition of impaired health reported especially in the Russian medical literature that is characterized by headaches, anxiety, sleep disturbances, fatigue, and difficulty in concentrating and by changes in the cardiovascular and central nervous systems and that is held to be caused by prolonged exposure to low-intensity microwave radiation.”

Children are affected.  Read this CHD article about an 8 year old boy who got bad headaches, dizziness, and fatigue at school with a 5G tower 200 meters away.  Dr. Lennart Hardell and Mona Nilsson measured the radiation levels at the boy’s school to be at a maximum of 27 uW/cm2, which while is under U.S. thermal exposure limit of 1000 uW/cm2 (the FCC limit), was 40 times higher than what it was at his home, which was measured to be at 0.104 uW/cm2 8-Year-Old Boy’s ‘Severe’ Headaches Likely Caused by 5G Tower Near School

Wireless radiation has become ubiquitous, and growing exponentially.  It’s not just cell phones, but large cell phone towers, and small cells in front of homes and downtown streets.  Wi-fi modems, personal tablets and laptops, smart meters in homes, satellites in the skies providing wireless internet service showering radiation from above, personal assistants like alexa, ring doorbell camera systems, wireless tech in cars, Wi-Fi hot spots, modems in residential homes being used to provide cell phone service to millions since 2014, wearables like apple watches, and fitbits.  In fact, people started to get EHS symptoms after they got fitbit. Fitbit was recalled due to mysterious EMF wifi symptoms and complaints in 2018 and many people reporting dermatitis with Air Pods and Wearable Wireless Devices  Then there are the thousands of satellites providing wireless internet that have already launched  with 42,000 planned for Space X (Star Link), with up to one million (paper) satellites planned.  You may have seen these passing overhead like a train of Santa’s reindeer.  Here’s a look at what they look like, also how to track where they are How to see Starlink satellites in the sky?   Starlink Tracker | Starlink Satellite Train 2024 Schedule with lots of them launching regularly

There are two moments each year when the sunrise and sunset are twelve hours apart, when the Sun lies directly above the Earth’s equator, and neither the North or South pole point toward the Sun. Equinoxes have long been associated with contemplating the balance between polarities, including yin and yang, darkness and light, right and wrong. Equinoxes and solstices were pivotal to human societies when the sky served as the clock and calendar and cultures were aligned with Natural Law and the Cosmic Current. The equinox occurs on March 19, 2024. Juxtaposed with the equinox, this blog is part of an on-going discussion about the need to heal the growing divide between telecommunications technology and nature and health.

A few years back, I worked at a puppy rescue. Many of the adoption stories, especially involving squealing young children, were heart-warming and sweet.

But there were also some heart-breaking stories, where dogs who had been abused landed in our care. Some older dogs would be returned to us, repeatedly, because they barked incessantly and/or destroyed property when they were left alone.  

Paying Attention to What Doesn’t Look (or Feel)Right

Some dogs had specific phobias. For example, I remember when David brought Ladybug to our house. She rounded the corner and encountered a vacuum cleaner and panicked.

Another friend’s dog Casey has a barking fit when he sees people performing tai chi in the park. Although this can be embarrassing for his owner, I’d like to think that he is a good guard dog with good instincts about how the world is supposed to look. If he had been raised in the East with more exposure to mind-body practices, he might not have been so distressed. If pizza were delivered by robot, I would not blame him for barking.

Fight or Flight or Freeze, or Dissociate

At the puppy rescue, Jolanta was terrified of men. Sometimes, in these cases, the dog will become aggressive. But in her case, when the other (male) worker approached her, we quickly realized what was happening because we see this pattern too often. She froze.

She became my responsibility. As she trembled and cowered in the corner, I went into her cage to move her for cleaning. Her musculature instantly became rock solid stiff and unyielding. She almost appeared inanimate, and in a sense, in that moment, she was. I don’t know if she had ever fought to try to defend herself, but now she was in an armored, terrified state. My co-worker and I both grieved at the magnitude of her past suffering, which was still hard-wired in her body in the present. Time did not heal all wounds.

From these dogs and other animals, I learned a great deal about fight or flight or freeze, and about post-traumatic stress. Like Jolanta, humans subjected to deep trauma can appear as if their essence has left their body. The saying goes that “the lights are on, but no one is home.” They can lose contact with reality.

Walking down any public thoroughfare any day of the week, one will encounter individuals who are dissociated from the local time-space continuum, because they are glued to their screens. The body is going through the motions of walking, while focus is diverted elsewhere.

This represents a state of disharmony, and lack of conscious awareness of the outer as well as the inner environment. From spending so much time in an incoherent state, in this posture of lack of integration, it is so easy to be misled about the nature of reality.

Reclaiming the Human Capacity for “Witnessed Consciousness“

Meditative practices directed towards observing and managing “the inner experience” are the domain of the East. (See bottom of post for further explanation of witnessed consciousness.)

In contrast, in the Western consumer culture, rather than cultivating balance in the interior landscape, one is encouraged to manipulate and control the outer environment in order to find comfort, enjoyment, distraction, and instant gratification, including wealth – no matter the cost. The indoctrination to consumerism becomes even more pronounced and instinct-injured with unresolved trauma, which can sustain exploitative disaster capitalism.

The ‘Age of Technocracy‘ has combined communications, surveillance, control, and warfare. Tools designed for warfare are never evaluated or monitored for health and environmental effects.

Despite the benefits of access to the world wide web, the mass consumer marketplace now delivers a choice of addictive and degenerative options 24/7/365; intended to reach every corner of the cosmos; for all age groups, including children, increasingly representing artificial realities that scramble physiology.

Not only is the assault relentless. The method of delivery via wireless technologies is unsafe. The situation is getting worse.

Post Pandemic Fear Begets Hoarding and Addiction

We might smile at the story of a dog who seemingly over-reacts to the vacuum cleaner or a tai chi class, recognizing from our perspective that the animals’ instincts are misleading. We have the luxury of reason and perspective while observing the world view of children and animals.

Yet post pandemic, we have not yet been able to ‘catch ourselves in the act’ and re-establish equilibrium.

We have not addressed the rising risks, downsides, and true costs of telecommunications tools and infrastructure that were embraced by perceived necessity, in an unbalanced manner. Many individuals have permanently adopted the shutdown’s ’emergency’ alterations in consumer telecom and screen behavior.

More Towers, More Antennas, More Consumption, More Carnage

Like the elder hoarder who housed 40 Scottie dogs in squander, there is a growing body of evidence that we are not providing an adequate level of protection and care for the planet, for each other, for children, and for the ecosystem relative to telecommunications.

Instead, due to trauma and addiction, we have become the equivalent of telecom hoarders and/or addicts. We do not know when enough is enough, and too much is too much.

And many, especially decision-makers, are choosing willful ignorance. The regulatory and political systems are themselves in a state of imbalance, and basing decisions on a foundation that lacks structural integrity because the science is corrupted.

As Carl Sagan noted, “We’ve arranged a society based on science and technology, in which nobody understands anything about science technology. And this combustible mixture of ignorance and power, sooner or later, is going to blow up in our faces. Who is running the science and technology in a democracy if the people don’t know anything about it?”

More Cell Towers, More Data Centers, More Energy Demands = More More More

Video (instead of other options like audio alone) is one driver of the demand for resources and energy required for more antennas and more towers.

The article Cell Tower Range: How Far Do They Reach? explains. “On average, the maximum usable range of a cell tower is 25 miles. While the typical coverage radius of a cell tower is 1 to 3 miles and in dense urban environments, a cell tower usually reaches 0.25 miles to 1 mile before handing off a user’s connection to another nearby cell site. [] . However, people began using their cell phones for more than just phone calls, specifically, for applications like texting, mobile internet, and e-mail – all of which used more data than voice services. As a result, the radius that a cell tower could theoretically cover was still 5 miles, but only people in the first 2.5 miles could receive enough spectrum and thus, cellular service to their phones.”

Most consumers are completely unaware of the reality that: 5g To Increase Energy Consumption By 61 Times.

Then there are the data centers themselves. Conservationists promoting the use of AI to manage sustainability efforts are ignoring the math. See: DATA CENTERS: AI is fueling a data center boom. It must be stopped.

The Attention Span of a Goldfish?

The digital detox blog Unplugged.rest published the optimistic article Goldfish Myth: Are our attention spans really that short?

Some say that human attention spans are now shorter than a goldfish. But that might not be exactly true. Are our attention spans shortening or evolving? “You have the attention span of a goldfish.” A common saying in the British language. But this common phrase has since made its way into headlines as fact: The human attention span shorter than a goldfish – at a mere 8 seconds. []

There’s a popular narrative that our collective attention span is on a rapid decline, primarily because of our digital lifestyle. And there is some truth here. The barrage of information from social media, emails, and apps has fostered a ‘skimming’ culture, potentially making deep focus more elusive.

 It’s not that our brains are deteriorating. Rather, the world around us has evolved. We’re in an era of information overload, and our brains have adapted to filter and prioritise content swiftly. Some also suggest that evidence of ever-shorter shot lengths in films shows attention spans are dwindling. But the academic behind that research says all it shows is that film-makers have got better at trying to grab our attention.

We are served an overwhelming amount of information and stimulation, so our perceived shorter attention spans are an adaption to filter through what we do want to consume. We’ve become efficient at processing vast amounts of information, albeit in shorter bursts.”

Unplugged

(Unplugged cabins rents spaces for travelers to go offline intentionally for a 3 or 4 night digital detox.)

Many would challenge the narrative that the world has ‘evolved.’ We are outsourcing many of our mental capacities, for example, navigation, without questioning the consequences.

The Other Goldfish Allegory

There is another goldfish story that haunts me, although I don’t remember the source.

An animal behaviorist was cleaning his fish tank, and temporarily placed the fish in the bathtub.

The fish continued to swim in a constricted circle, the shape and size of their fishbowl.

We have not recovered from the pandemic (followed by the writer’s strike and lack of network tv, which also increased streaming and binge watching).

Our trauma has translated, directly, into our unexamined screen habits, which threaten our eyesight, posture, brain function, compassion, relationships, communities, property rights, pollinators, privacy, sovereignty, self-mastery, health, survival and evolution, and those of our descendants.

Societal structures promoting and enabling the growth of the tech industry – from industry to politics to regulators – show no signs of being able to course correct. 

We are absolutely at an evolutionary threshold, with clear choices needing to be made about right and wrong decision-making, especially concerning children, vulnerable populations, and nature. (See the 2021 court remand to the FCC here, which the FCC and the nation have ignored.) Like many other instances of “late lessons from early warnings” corrupted non-protective decisions are being made, despite the need to pivot.

The authors of “Star Wisdom and Rudolf Steiner, A life Seen through the Oracle of the Solar Cross” are David Tresemer and Robert Schiappacasse. They noted, “In our time, images are ubiquitous and rampant. [] We have become gluttons, even if unwilling gluttons, of images. The energetic body becomes fat while the soul starves. We are meant to feed the soul with our own realizations of its gifts.”

How do voters respond when the reasoned will of the people to confront the FCC’s lawlessness is over-ridden?

In A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens wrote, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us….”

In another age of incredulity, voters and consumers are recognizing unfolding harm and violations of human rights and community rights resulting from nearly thirty years of inadequate telecommunication regulation that systematically ignores risks to health and the environment.

Engaged, respectful, informed activism is building, in the Commonwealth and beyond.

Who will be on the right side of history?

Stamford, CT Rejects 5G Citing Evidence of Health Risks

On the plus side, the Board of Representatives in Stamford, CT voted to reject an agreement that would have allowed telecommunications carriers to install 5G equipment on city-owned utility poles.

As Angela Carella reported in the CT Examiner, Stamford Rejects Deal Allowing 5G on City-Owned Utility Poles.  ”STAMFORD – The Board of Representatives has rejected an agreement, brokered by the governor’s office, that set terms for allowing telecommunications carriers to install 5G equipment on city-owned utility poles. Twenty-one city representatives Wednesday decided against accepting the state’s template for applications by telecoms that seek to place antennas and other equipment on poles in public rights of way.

They rejected the state’s application template despite advice from Gov. Ned Lamont’s mediation panel and city attorneys who said they would lose in court if telecom companies are prevented from using public utility poles and they sue. Federal law prohibits local governments from legislating on the alleged health risks of radiofrequency radiation emitted by 5G antennas, the attorneys said.

City Rep. Sean Boeger said the possibility of losing in court should not be a factor in the deliberations of legislative bodies. Representatives said they were persuaded by research presented during an October meeting of the board’s Land Use Committee claiming to show that 5G technology can cause brain damage, headaches, memory loss, damage to reproductive organs and the nervous system, and genetic damage, as well as harm to trees, birds, insects and wildlife.

“The FCC rules are now under remand in federal court, and the FCC still has not explained why the rules have not been updated,” Sandri told the board. “The city has the right to independently monitor wireless networks for compliance with the FCC’s ancient exposure rules, so the city should be given the opportunity to object” to telecom applications to place 5G antenna on publicly owned utility poles. City Rep. James Grunberger cited the FCC’s defeat in federal court in making his argument to reject the state’s recommendation for telecom applications.

“The federal government does not have guidelines for long-term exposure, so we need to protect our city ourselves, and not succumb to legal threats,” Grunberger said. “Each of these small cells on these poles contains up to 100 antennas, and they’re close to people’s windows. We should assert our ability to reject these antennas. We have to err on the side of caution.” – Source

As noted by Suzanne Burdock, writing for the Defender, one of the presenters who spoke to the Stamford Board is Dr. Devra Davis of the Environmental Health Trust.  “In addition to Davis, the experts who presented to the board’s land use committee included Dr. Rob Brown, an orthopedic radiology specialist, B. Blake Levitt, a science journalist, Theodora Scarato, EHT’s executive director, Kent Chamberlin, Ph.D., past chair and professor emeritus in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of New Hampshire, and Joseph Sandri, a telecom regulatory attorney and CEO of the tech lab Thought Delivery Systems Inc.”

The Defender summarized four takeaways from experts’ presentation on wireless radiation risks: 1. Wireless radiation can cause cellular stress and DNA damage leading to disease; 2. FCC guidelines are a ‘complete failure’ for protecting kids; 3. Other countries have more stringent wireless radiation standards; 4. Pollinators may be impacted by 5G.

Engaged Informed Activism in Massachusetts is Growing Despite Recent Attorney General Ruling

On the other side of the coin, closely coinciding with the 250^th anniversary of the 1773 Boston Tea Party, the Berkshire Eagle reported, The state disapproves of bylaws banning 5G in Great Barrington and Sheffield. Some residents are appealing.

Heather Bellow wrote, “Residents at Great Barrington’s annual town meeting in May approved a pause on installing 5G technology until the federal government completed a court-mandated safety review. The Attorney General said the bylaw violates FCC law. Sheffield’s bylaw also was rejected by the AG’s Office.”

1996, Congress passes Telecom Act of 1996, Section 704 states, ““No State or local government or instrumentality thereof may regulate the placement, construction, and modification of personal wireless service facilities on the basis of the environmental effects of radio frequency emissions to the extent that such facilities comply with the Commission’s regulations concerning such emissions.”

From 2013-2019, the Federal Communications Commission collected commentary on the adequacy of its theoretical exposure guidelines, which are technically not standards because they were not derived from actual biological testing. In 2019, the FCC abruptly closed the proceeding, concluding that there was no need to update its 1996 standards.

2021,  EHT Wins In Historic Decision, Federal Court Orders FCC To Explain Why It Ignored Scientific Evidence Showing Harm From Wireless Radiation “…the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruled in the historic case EHT et al. v. the FCC that the December 2019 decision by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to retain its 1996 safety limits for human exposure to wireless radiation was “arbitrary and capricious.””

The court found the FCC failed to address these issues: impacts of long-term wireless exposure, impacts to children, the testimony of people injured by wireless radiation, impacts to wildlife and the environment, impacts to the developing brain and reproduction.

May 2023, At their Annual Town Meetings voters in Sheffield and Great Barrington indicated that is was reasonable for their communities to pause additional 5G installations until the FCC addresses the court’s remand.  

One focus of the public education campaign, led by the non-profit Scientific Alliance for Education (S.A.F.E.) in the agricultural communities, was risks to pollinators.

The Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office Had A Decision To Make: Apply Existing Laws While Ignoring Other Laws To Protect The Rogue Federal Agency Or Turn The Tide On A Rogue Agency That Considers Itself Above The Law

“In a Nov. 8 letter, the state Attorney General’s Office notified the towns that their bylaws run counter to Federal Communications Commission regulations and Massachusetts law, which prohibits towns and cities from barring wireless equipment if it meets town regulations,” even though federal and state regulations fail to protect human health and the environment. As reported by the Berkshire Eagle, “The group points out the the bylaw does not “prohibit personal wireless service” — as the attorney general claimed, said S.A.F.E. Vice President Kathryn Levin, in an email.

Also, requiring a pause until the FCC completes its review does not constitute an “effective prohibition” of personal wireless service — which is the ability to get cellphone service. Such a complete prohibition also would run afoul of FCC rules.

“Nina Anderson added that there is no “written evidence” that there is a “significant gap” in the ability to get a cell signal in Great Barrington and Sheffield. New 5G isn’t needed to make a phone call, she said. Both towns already have one 5G node in each of their downtowns, according to Ookla’s interactive 5G map. The bylaw aims to prevent any new installations.

The decision to nullify the town’s vote was troublesome because the Attorney General’s Office had been consulted about the legality of the warrant item for the town meeting citizen’s petition prior to the vote.

When Aligning with Federal Guidelines is an Evolutionary Dead End?

Citizens state-wide and nation-wide are working with local governments to provide increased scrutiny of telecommunications infrastructure and to strengthen zoning protections. (See sample ordinances here.)

The story is not as much about the Attorney General’s decision as it is about the apparent increase in informed, engaged activism that erupted in a number of towns in Massachusetts during their spring 2023 town meetings and beyond.

When the MA Attorney General’s Office ruled that outdated Federal and State laws pre-empt communities from protecting themselves, the decision did not squelch growing opposition to the forced installation of wireless infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the wireless industry is attempting to fast-track favorable legislation through federal and state decision-making bodies. Yet on the grassroots level, citizens are aware of the writing on the wall – it is time to stop the process whereby unsubstantiated economic development trumps human health and the environment. State Attorney General Against Tobacco But For 5G/Wireless?

The wireless industry is often compared to Big Tobacco.  In the case of cigarettes, state Attorneys General banded together and sued the industry.  Cece Doucette of MA4SafeTech noted, “Big tobacco is still paying out to the states for the harm today. I understand big telecom has set aside billions already for the lawsuits that are coming. It’s time to get that $ to help those suffering, and to bring fiber to the premises.”

The expectation for fiber to the premises is reasonable, because consumers have already paid repeatedly for connectivity through billions in cross-subsidies, as documented by the Irregulators.  

“The case is simple: Do you have a 45 Mbps, bi-directional service to your home, paying around $40? Do you have 500+ channels and can choose any competitive service? You paid an estimated $2000 for this product even though you did not receive it and it may never be available. Do you want your money back and the companies held accountable?”

Ignoring Harm Caused By Inadequate Regulation Of Telecommunications Violates Anti-Discrimination, Human Rights, And Fair Housing Protections 

Residents across Massachusetts remain optimistic that the Attorney General might still get it right. She is already in good company.

Governor of Wyoming In April of 2022, the Governor of Wyoming sent a letter of concern to the FCC regarding the lack of response to the Court ruling.

City of Pittsfield  The City of Pittsfield, MA has sent letters of concern regarding the inadequacy of federal policy and attempted to issue a cease and desist regarding an industrial scale cell tower imposed on a Pittsfield neighborhood that has driven residents from their homes.

Cities of Boston and Philadelphia In 2013, “The cities of Boston and Philadelphia in their joint submission to the FCC on November 18 accused the FCC and Federal health agencies of negligence for failing to investigate whether electrosensitive persons are harmed by cell phone radiation:

“The FCC admits its own lack of expertise in the field. But the overlap of federal agency responsibilities for RF radiation protection and the merely advisory status of the Radiofrequency Interagency Work Group often leaves leadership unclear and encourages a pass-the-buck attitude .

The 1999-2000 judicial challenge to the FCC’s 1996 rules never reached the issue of “electrosensitivity” as a cognizable disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act. (“ADA”) Here again, an agency responsible for ADA implementation acknowledges that the impairment may be disabling but has promised merely further inquiry. After more than a decade, that investigation remains unopened. The dockets here have been updated with massive additional evidence of the crippling effects of RF radiation on an admitted minority – but a suffering minority – of U.S. citizens. The FCC and its sister regulatory agencies share responsibility for adherence to the ADA and should replace promises with serious attention to a serious medical problem. This is one area where the FCC could lead in advice to electrosensitive persons about prudent avoidance.”   Source

The Pittsfield Board of Health and the Massachusetts Association of Health Boards Amicus Brief: “The focus of ‘public health’ is to protect the health of every member of the community, regardless of geography or location”

The Pittsfield Board of Health attempted to issue a Cease and Desist order after the cell tower was placed in a residential neighborhood, causing tremendous harm to the nearby residents, and driving some from their homes. In addition, in February of 2023, the Massachusetts Association of Health Boards issued an Amicus Brief in support of the Pittsfield Board. Anti-Racketeering Regulations?

Big Tobacco was prosecuted under anti-racketeering laws. “As Judge Kessler found in her nearly 1,700-page final opinion, the tobacco companies have engaged in massive deception and wrongdoing:

“Over the course of more than 50 years, Defendants lied, misrepresented, and deceived the American public, including smokers and the young people they avidly sought as ‘replacement smokers,’ about the devastating health effects of smoking and environmental tobacco smoke, they suppressed research, they destroyed documents, they manipulated the use of nicotine so as to increase and perpetuate addiction, they distorted the truth about low tar and light cigarettes so as to discourage smokers from quitting, and they abused the legal system in order to achieve their goal – to make money with little, if any, regard for individual illness and suffering, soaring health costs, or the integrity of the legal system.”

“Importantly, Judge Kessler concluded, “The evidence in this case clearly establishes that Defendants have not ceased engaging in unlawful activity…. Their continuing conduct misleads consumers in order to maximize Defendants’ revenues by recruiting new smokers (the majority of whom are under the age of 18), preventing current smokers from quitting, and thereby sustaining the industry.” – Source

Informed, concerned citizens find that it is incredulous that Judge Kessler’s words apply to regulation of the wireless industry.

In Massachusetts, neither the Baker nor the Healey administrations have responded pro-actively to issues regarding wireless radiation, including cell towers and antennas proximal to homes, and questions about utility smart meter safety. Investor-owned utilities in the Commonwealth are in the process of replacing their meter fleets because previously installed meters have reached the end of their lifecycle. The choice for AMI (advanced metering infrastructure) poses the risk for stranded assets for ratepayers down the road if/when the technology is proven unsafe.

The expert witness who debunked health complaints for the MA Department of Public Utilities order 12-76-B also defends Philips Light cigarettes and vinyl chloride. The DPU and the Attorney General did not publicly address substantial documentation regarding fraudulent reporting including cost savings, energy savings, and customer satisfaction for the results of the controversial National Grid Smart Meter Pilot Program which was foisted on the Worcester community.

Not Regulating the Placement of Wireless Infrastructure for Safety

Decision-makers are reviewing wireless infrastructure applications based on outdated 1996 guidelines, for which the Court, the National Academies, and Department of the Interior have identified concerns. The implication of the National Toxicology Program and Ramazzini Institute studies and the New Hampshire Commission Report is that current FCC human exposure limits for non-ionizing RFR allow for hazardous exposures.

Limiting liability with positioning to minimize negative health effects of cellular phone towers notes,

“The use of cellular phones is now ubiquitous through most of the adult global population and is increasingly common among even young children in many countries (e.g. Finland, where the market for smart phones is nearly saturated). The basic operation of cellular phone networks demands widespread human exposure to radio-frequency radiation (RFR) with cellular phone base stations providing cellular coverage in most areas. As the data needs of the population increase from the major shift in the source of Internet use from personal computers to smart phones, this coverage is widely predicted to increase. Thus, both the density of base stations and their power output is expected to increase the global human RFR exposure. Although direct causation of negative human health effects from RFR from cellular phone base stations has not been finalized, there is already enough medical and scientific evidence to warrant long-term liability concerns for companies deploying cellular phone towers. In order to protect cell phone tower firms from the ramifications of the failed paths of other industries that have caused unintended human harm (e.g. tobacco) this Current Issue summarizes the peer-reviewed literature on the effects of RFR from cellular phone base stations. Specifically, the impacts of siting base stations are closely examined and recommendations are made for companies that deploy them to minimize their potential future liability.”

The Federal Regulatory Gap

As outlined in 2021 correspondence to the Biden administration from the Environmental Health Trust, due to a Federal regulatory gap, environmental evaluations and federal safety limits have not been established for 4G & 5G telecommunications that protect public health and the environment.  

Despite interpreting the law to override the will of the voters in Sheffield and Great Barrington, Massachusetts policy makers also have another option. They can call on the FCC to address the 2021 court remand. Reasoned decision makers recognize their responsibility and their right to protect the health of every member of the community, as well as the nature environment.

SpaceX is scheduled to test operational compatibility between T-Mobile devices and satellites from 12 locations, reported to begin Dec. 10.

Broadband

In his blog Pots and Pans Broadband for All, industry analyst Doug Dawson recently commented about trends indicated by the 3rd quarter report by OpenVault for home broadband usage in the United States.

“In the third quarter of this year, the average U.S. household used 54.7 more gigabytes of data than one year earlier. That alone is a pretty amazing statistic – 54 gigabytes is a lot of usage in a month. With roughly 120 million residential broadband subscribers, this equates to over 6.5 billion more gigabytes of data used each month than just a year ago. That’s 11% more usage hitting the Internet backbones, just from residential usage.”

The report indicates that Americans did not recover from the pandemic lockdowns by returning to other activities and receding from trauma-driven and/or imposed increased broadband consumption, which according to the FCC includes fiber optics, cable, wireless, DSL, and satellites.

Classifying Broadband For Planetary Peril, and Paying for Coverage Again and Again and Again

The classification categories for broadband enable competition between providers and technology approaches for grants to provide coverage, despite the fact that Americans have already paid for coverage through billions in cross-subsidies, as documented by the The IRREGULATORS,

(“We found that Verizon NY Local Service was overcharged an estimated $1.1-$1.6 billion, in just 2019. (This is the low number.) Moreover, the Verizon NY FiOS cable franchise has expired. 100% of the City was supposed have have been upgraded to fiber optics, but 25% were never done and it gets worse in low income areas where 30-45% of the area was never completed. Nationwide, this equates to Local Service being overcharged in America an estimated $16-$23 billion in just 2019. (And this is only for expenses related to construction, marketing and corporate operations expenses.)” – Source)

The FCC’s throw-it-all-in-one-bucket approach (fiber optics, cable, wireless, DSL, and satellites) echos Vandana Shiva’s caution regarding nuclear energy, and the practice of splitting atoms to boil water. Discernment is about scale, complexity, resources, energy consumption, and risks. “Nature shrinks as capital grows. The growth of the market cannot solve the very crisis it creates.” Is there anything holistic or reasoned about assuming that the Earth’s atmosphere can be saturated with satellites and space junk without influencing Life? As Vandana notes, ““Whenever we engage in consumption or production patterns which take more than we need, we are engaging in violence.”

The Straw That Breaks the Camel’s Back?

It would be lovely to think that now that the Hollywood writer’s strike has ended, that more Americans would become concerned about the infrastructure required to support the unexamined proliferation of faster, more ubiquitous telecommunications, and alarmed about the impact on society and on nature, as well as recognizing the absurdity of lumping satellite and fiber in the same bucket.

Accompanying increasing broadband consumption statistics, and the politicized efforts to provide internet access to all (even though consumers already paid for this), each seemingly insignificant new behavior (for example, unexamined pandemic-fueled group video chat data demand) is loading more stress on the camel’s back, meaning, the Earth’s ecosystem on a macro level, and on the bees and our cellular biology on the microlevel, also encompassing every living thing in between.

It would be a profound and authentic reset if wirelessly-enabled broadband consumption went down in 2024. Because this is not just about household devices.

From 2,000 to 1 Million

In 2019, Jeremy Naydler’s article, Where the Sky Turns Black: Reflections on the 5G Satellite Net Surrounding the Earth was published by New View, a quarterly magazine serving the anthroposophical community, informed by the work of Rudolf Steiner.

In the 2019 article, he provided an explanation and an image of the first stage of the Starlink/SpaceX-enabled global network.

Space Junk

Jeremy wrote, “In 2018, there were in total approximately two thousand fully functioning satellites and about three thousand defunct ones, often referred to as “space junk”. Of the actively functioning satellites, some beamed down commercial GPS (or ‘SatNav’), some provided TV, some provided smartphone services, and some produced high-definition images for meteorologists and military surveillance, and so on. The number of satellites has increased since then, most of this due to SpaceX setting up its first Starlink constellation.” – StarLink.pdf (website-editor.net)

(Note that already in 2018 there were more defunct satellites than functioning ones.)

As Arthur Firstenberg reported on November 1, the Number of planned low-orbit satellites NOW EXCEEDS ONE MILLION.

Three Different Constellations and Orbits

Jeremy Naydler explains, “Once the initial phase is complete, SpaceX will then establish further, much larger constellations of satellites, at different orbits. Currently, the company plans to set up a second constellation of just under three thousand satellites orbiting the Earth at an altitude of 690 miles, considerably higher than the first constellation. And then it will set up a third, much larger constellation of seven and a half thousand satellites, closer to the Earth than the initial constellation, in what is called Very Low Earth Orbit, at 210 miles altitude (just ten miles higher than the orbit of the International Space Station). The Starlink satellite net is therefore going to be three-ply, for the aim is that coverage of the Earth from space will be total, without any gaps.”

As reported by the Spokesman Review on Nov. 19, “[ ] in addition to deep-space exploration, SpaceX also intends to use Starship to launch its next-generation Starlink internet satellites, which are larger and heavier and require Starship’s greater power. Starlink beams the internet to ground stations, allowing users in remote areas to connect to the web.”

Larger heavier satellites necessitate larger heavier rockets. As noted here, SpaceX assures humanity that its experimental rocket launches should continue, because the rockets will self-destruct if needed., ‘Mishaps’ are considered to be part of the learning curve. The company is calling for faster regulatory approval.

As the Spokesman reported, “One of the concerns is that Starship requires its propellant tank to be refilled while in Earth’s orbit by a fleet of Starship tankers in an immensely complicated choreography. None of those tankers have been launched — or built.”

How many consumers understand that in order to provide internet access in remote areas via satellite. that every inch of the planet will be radiated within a multi-layered satellite-enabled cage? What other objectives are fueling SpaceX ambitions and authorizations?

For those cautiously watching the wireless roll-out, three concerning news items were circulated recently about satellite-wireless-5G-cellphone Armageddon, including another wrinkle in the SpaceX debacle (aside from the explosions).

#1 Botched Wireless “Conservation“

On Nov. 29, Arthur Firstenberg of the Cellular Phone Task Force shared the story of a botched conservation program in Hawaii, where endangered birds were fitted with radio transmitters, killing nearly all of the birds. The story did not make the mainstream news.

“By November 16, every bird was dead except the three who had succeeded in removing or disabling their transmitter. The details are shocking.”

Is equating conservation with monitoring an endangered species via satellites an evolutionary trap, as recently described by researchers at the Stockholm Resilience Center? “We set three criteria for identifying a phenomenon as a potential Anthropocene trap: (1) that it can be described as evolving from an initially adaptive process; (2) that it, at the global level, shows signs of undesirable impacts on human well-being or has been hypothesized to show such signs in the future; (3) that it has a trapping mechanism that makes it harder to escape from negative impacts once this mechanism is activated.”

When will conservation groups look at the impacts on the organisms and the sky, and not just screens and data?

#2 Pets

On December 5, Arthur Firstenberg subsequently published Dogs, Cats, Birds, and Maui, after readers contacted him about the effects of radiofrequency radiation powering wireless technologies on their pets.

“It’s like the light has gone out of things and a darkness has entered and for the first time in my life I am worried to the bone and scared.”

“This year only the squirrels and rats are eating the bird food. The sky is almost empty of birds. The bees have disappeared as well. From hundreds last year to one or two this year.”

#3 The T Mobile SpaceX Test December 10 Countdown to – the Solstice?

In addition to the two reports from the Cellular Phone Task Force about RFR and earth, recent news about upcoming TMobile and SpaceX testing of cellphones and satellites has more informed communities concerned about increasing experimentation without informed consent, and the growing density of satellites polluting space.

“The goal is to test out the system in partnership with T-Mobile using the carrier’s licensed microwave radio spectrum to beam the satellite connectivity to 2,000 test devices using the Sat-To-Cell service.”

On December 4, PC Magazine reported FCC Lets SpaceX Deploy Satellites for Cellular Starlink, But With Restrictions, The FCC only grants part of SpaceX’s application to operate a cellular version of Starlink, which is designed to work with T-Mobile smartphones.”

“After months of waiting, SpaceX has received partial clearance from the Federal Communications Commission to start deploying the company’s cellular Starlink system — but only to conduct short tests. On Friday, the FCC decided to “grant in part, defer in part” the company’s application to operate the satellite service, which is being designed to beam connectivity to T-Mobile smartphones.

The FCC’s ruling authorizes SpaceX to “deploy a modified version of the previously authorized Gen2 Starlink satellites.” However, the company is only receiving authorization so that it can verify the radios on the satellites work. Specifically, SpaceX can operate the satellites “within the 1910-1915MHz and 1990-1995MHz bands for limited on-orbit check out of the antennas immediately following deployment of each satellite for a period of 10 days or less, to ensure initial functionality of the satellite antenna,” the FCC said.“

According to the FCC filing, T-Mobile requested a 180-day test period. The FCC reportedly authorized the tests for only ten days. We should not be relieved. The overwhelming issue is not the 12 communities and/or the count of 180 or 10 days to verify operational status. The problem is the satellite cage enclosing the earth, also described as a global spider web.

We absolutely have no surveillance or regulations regarding the potential impact of SpaceX on nature and human health, because the fox (FCC) is guarding the henhouse. In addition, the FCC has ignored the 2021 court order questioning the safety of its 1996 exposure guidelines for both human health and the environment.

How Are You Observing Nature?

I agree with the concern expressed by the Cellular Phone Task Force about birds and wildlife. On the day that the United States conducted its test of the Emergency Broadcast System for cellphones, I made the conscious choice to go to a nearby lake and swim while the testing was conducted. As I exited my car about 25 minutes before the specified time, I heard the birds in the trees in the nearby woods – screaming. (What surveillance capabilities were tested in the time period before the phones rang?)

At sunrise in my area, I can directly detect/hear (via microwave hearing) an increase in wireless transmissions. I suspect that coverage ramps up to accommodate morning commuters, and it is even louder in the rain.

There are no more birds singing at dawn.

Although many individuals discount concerns because they and their pets and loved ones seem unaffected, the overwhelming issue is that there is no premarket safety testing and no investigation of reported adverse effects from juxtaposed, chronic, cumulative frequency exposures. Meanwhile, harm is being reported. We do not know what frequencies being transmitted from multiple sources are impacting a particular location or living being at any point in time (now including satellites and 5G beamforming). Mainstream news is not reporting independent reports of harm. This article by Suzanne Burdick of Children’s Health Defense outlines a recent report from Sweden.

We do not know when transmissions are increasing in our environment, our health care providers do not know, and we are being brainwashed to disregard and to ridicule expressions of concern. We are not engaged in evidence-based decision-making that data is supposed to provide because no one is collecting or heeding the data.

Russia – Banning Cellphones in Schools

Juxtaposed with trends in U.S. regulation comes the news report from the Moscow Times that Russia is in the process of banning cellphones in schools.

Russia’s State Duma Bans Cellphones in School Classrooms Russian lawmakers on Wednesday voted in favor of banning the use of cellphones in school classrooms, a move they argue will help improve the learning process for students.  The speaker of Russia’s lower-house State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin said cellphones would no longer be permitted in classrooms except for “emergencies.’ Parents and teachers asked us to back this rule. The adopted decision will improve the quality of our children’s education,” Volodin wrote on the messaging app Telegram.“

This follows on the heels of a similar decision in 2021 by China.

The rhetoric around the 5G roll-out during the Trump administration was about beating China in the race to 5G. At this point, is the US running in the wrong direction?

Apple Interference Warning

On December 7, Apple issued a warning “About potential interference with medical devices.” “Most consumer electronic devices, including laptops, tablets, smartphones, wearables, and audio devices, contain magnets and generate electromagnetic fields that might interfere with medical devices. For example, implanted pacemakers and defibrillators might contain sensors that respond to magnets and radios when in close contact.”

Through multiple feedback loops, Nature has been reminding consumers that living beings have a sensory system designed to alchemize with the flow of the Cosmic Current. We respond to magnets and so-called “radios” – an interesting euphemism for microwave, millimeter wave, and radio frequency radiation.

Where the Sky Turns Black vs. the Solstice Return of Light

As Jeremy Naydler wrote in Where the Sky Turns Black: Reflections on the 5G Satellite Net Surrounding the Earth, “As the conditions of life on Earth are increasingly overshadowed by forces which originate from the sub-natural realm, we have without doubt to redouble our efforts to counteract them with forces that build up life and health. It is of utmost importance that we nurture all that is life-giving and life-enhancing, so as to strengthen nature’s resilience. The more human consciousness is lured away from nature, and we allow our attention to be constantly claimed by the electronic world, the more we shall see the life of nature drain away, and the more we ourselves shall fall away from the realisation
of our deeper human purpose. We do it by remembering that the Sun is the source of Light on Earth, and that it inspires our illumination. We safeguard the finely-tuned electromagnetic pathways between the Earth and the Cosmos, and between the Earth and ourselves. We question the cage of technological demands that we have constructed. We come back home to ourselves and one another,in real time. We do it via one less unexamined paradigm of increased telecom and broadband consumption, and one less dismissal of concern, at a time.
