Stop 5G: hunger strike against electrosmog

Today, 57 compatriots have started a hunger strike , as a form of protest against the raising of the electromagnetic emission limits foreseen by a document ( PDF ) of the IX Permanent Commission for Transport, Posts and Telecommunications, in order to adjust the values of the our country to those of other European states. The initiative is promoted by the Italian Stop 5G Alliance .

To avoid the tenfold increase in the Italian limits on electromagnetic emissions approved by the Parliamentary Commission, Alleanza Italiana Stop 5G promotes a hunger strike. Activists, politicians, mayors, doctors and technicians have already joined. More than 62,000 signatures collected.

5G and emissions limit: hunger strike organized

In the press release we read references to a “radio frequency overdose that would put everyone, definitively, hostage to irresponsible policies devoted to permanent experimentation on the entire population” and to reaching a “point of no return” , inviting those interested to sign a petition on Change .org to stop the setting up of 5G networks within the national territory.

On the pages of the Oasi Sana website the complete list with the names of those who have chosen to join the protest .

What limits are we talking about? Up to now the threshold in Italy has remained fixed at 6 V/m and 0.1 W/m2, but the intention is to bring them respectively to 61 V/m and 10 W/m2, however within the safety limits established by ICNIRP ( International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection). Let us remember that our country is the one that has so far imposed the most severe restrictions on this front among all those in the European bloc. Forcing operators to respect them, on the one hand reduces the emissions of each individual network infrastructure, but on the other pushes the telcos to install more on the territory in order to guarantee adequate coverage.

Finally, it should be emphasized that, as they are conceived, the 5G antennas (unlike what happens with the mobile networks of previous generations), are able to selectively and dynamically direct the signal, adapting it to the requests of users every few milliseconds, consequently reducing the quantity of energy used and, in fact, the electromagnetic pollution produced.
